[TV] The Legend of Korra - Book 2: Spirits
I never really considered it an anime ._. I just like this one a bunch since I loved the first season
Haha I love that! You just won 10,000,000 e-cookies.
Anyone else bothered by how manly Korra is? I know she's supposed to be opposite or whatever, but scenes she's downright butch. XD
Avatar nor it's sequel nor Teen Titans are Anime.
personally for Avatar I didn't get into it at first until it was on one day and nothing else was on so I figured what the hell I'll bite, I'm glad I did. Anime is short for Japanimation, which means japanese animation. If it is not produced in japan, then by definition it is not "anime".
You guys are still with that? So what if its not anime. It still has its moments.
Artemicion said: » decent animation That was the best part of The Last Airbender, IMO. The animation and choreography was gorgeous and very impressive for a regular TV series, especially the fight scenes. I was looking forward to Korra just to see what they would do with the animation (although I'm enjoying the rest of it too!) and so far all the episodes have been movie quality. You can tell they gave the studio a huge budget, I'm sure because it's practically guaranteed to be a huge success. Cerberus.Sephrin said: » You guys are still with that? So what if its not anime. I saw some of the behinds the scenes stuff from the Last Airbender and fell in love with the lore behind the bending arts. It's actually well choreographed, like you said, and it makes that much more interesting to me. Phoenix.Kirana said: » Anime is short for Japanimation NO! Japanimation is not a word, I feel disgusting for just typing it. It is a bastardization that the creator should be punished for Phoenix.Kirana said: » If it is not produced in japan, then by definition it is not "anime". this part is however still true Cerberus.Sephrin said: » You guys are still with that? I've never heard of Japanimation... as a word I mean. I didn't know it was referred to as that. Are you being serious Jetackuu or just your opinion?

I'll slap some sense into friends if they ever use that word then! What would be the correct term to call The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra? Cartoons? D= When I say cartoons I think Spongebob or Ed Edd and Eddy.
cartoons
and unlike those two you mentioned Avatar and it's sequel are of quality and class. Would animation not work as well?
Shiva.Galbir said: » Would animation not work as well? it would, but it brings up the fact that cartoons really should have genre classifications. hmm. I mean love Reboot, but it's entirely cgi
I stand corrected on the origins of the word "anime". Thank you for enlightening me.
Just watched the first episode of Korra and I was quite pleased. I caught 1 episode the other day, seemed to be interesting, I'll enjoy the parts of the story of the in between they leak.
Since they're jerks and never gave us a 4th season. Okay, so HD episodes are more or less $3 a pop on XBL.
Should I give in, or should I just bite my fingernails and wait til season one gets released on Blu-Ray? Artemicion said: » Okay, so HD episodes are more or less $3 a pop on XBL. Though I suppose I can just hold out for now. Following a series has it's own weekly hype which I like. But I've been rather spoiled by HD quality. Are there available methods of ripping Blu-Ray discs into a more universal video file format, or am I better off pirating the damned thing? (Still want to support the franchise) Artemicion said: » Jetackuu said: » Artemicion said: » Okay, so HD episodes are more or less $3 a pop on XBL.
