I was looking at the shout feature a few min ago and couldn't help noticing that everything in the <auto translate> was showing up half English and half Japanese.

I think the shouts are displayed in the language of the game instance they're pulled from. If you're playing on a jp version of the game, and using guildwork plugin, it would pull the shouts auto-translated in jp. Just a guess though.
i dont use GW. Standing in port jeuno, everything was shown in english as normal. The pic was just from this site.

The site logs things from Guildwork. There's probably a user with Guildwork running that's on a JP client, and it's messing with the readings.
shouldn't be that hard of the fix now that guildwork is a plugin. It could recognize which client language you're using and from that they could just swap the translations around to english before its sent, or the site could convert it to english when it comes in.

Yeah, happens on Siren occasionally with German.
I love reading it in Japanese, it helps me learn more game specific text.

yeah i read this morning half english and half german on bahamut too, thought it was just a prime time or something :)
Happens on windower if your internet crashes and you sign back in without reloading windower. At least thats how it always happens to me. Just close out and start back up windower and should be back to normal.

Yeah I would logout completely and relaunch windower. That's how this one guy got banned. It was obvious he was using windower cuz he accidentally shouted with a Japanese translation. Beware...

Somehow I really doubt him shouting in a different language got him banned.
But that's a topic that's beat with a dead horse. I've been copying over JP text/symbols for a very long time and have not gotten 1 single warning/ban.

He didn't shout in a different language because of a crash. The issue is incoming client side, IIRC you're still sending out the proper chat. It's annoying but you should be safe.
Easy way to check though, next time this happens, tell a friend in auto-translate and see if they can understand it.
