Random Question thread (FFXI related)
So basically I can't be bothered to do Sheol C with other humans anymore and don't have the time to do it on both chars every day. If I were to 2box it so I can get points on both at once as BRD+BLU using Cruel Joke am I right to think that it would be best to do the pulling and sleeping on the BRD? How many segs would I pull on average? Where is the list of sets it does work on and doesn't work on? If a mob set at a halo is able to be done, I assume there's still no point in individually pulling them and sleeping and killing them?

K123 said: » If a mob set at a halo is able to be done, I assume there's still no point in individually pulling them and sleeping and killing them? Yes, it's definitely not worth it. Only 21/46 sets are succeptible. How many segs average is that going to be without halos? Can't be more than 5-6k? Probably better to 2box brd dd as I have before and full cleared.
K123 said: » Probably better to 2box brd dd as I have before and full cleared. Um...wut? You mean, you've joined a group of 6 players and full cleared, or you full cleared with just your 2 characters? Obviously if you are joining a full group (of 4 other players) and full clear, it will be significantly more rewarding than solo dualboxing. I hope this didn't need to be said. It's also worth considering even if half the packs are jokeable (little less)...you won't actually kill them all. With BRD+BLU, you have (best case scenario) 5 jokes. If each one is 2 packs (unlikely) you can kill 10 packs. That's ~3400 segments. It's possible to get 3 packs at once, but it starts getting glitchy with the rewards. You won't get a lot by soloing on BLU, or duoing with yourself on BLU. It's not AWFUL, especially for solo, but it's never going to be remotely close to a "Real" run. Yeah pugging the other 4. 3500 a run is dogshit, I could do similar with BRD and DD meleeing surely?

I have no trouble with this on SCH (on umbrils fusion > MB nuke > MB nuke) so 4 spells but the other day it was waters day I think I killed like 5 or 6 before the casket spawned. I frequently got it to 1% and needed to cast an extra nuke and I assume I was just outside the timer window for a couple of the kills the wiki shows the 30s as unverified, maybe its 15, 20 or 25 seconds, I dunno (I did not time them but it was "slower" and still felt quick to do 5 nukes, although I think once or twice I got it to spawn when I thought I was slow on a kill) But so long as nothing unusual or dumb (i lose weather, spell gets interrupted, I'm a bit slow and miss double MB) happens its always been 3 kills for me to get it. Once in a while I think zone lag causes issues with my GS too (although it could be a random resist although when things seem "bad" it seems to be a bit more consistent which is why I'm suspicious of lag, although quick magic can cause that too but that's generally pretty obvious when it goes off). I'm kinda wondering if I'd be better doing elementals but I'm afraid of magic aggro. Fenrir.Brimstonefox said: » soralin said: » But has anyone has found sometimes Casket #B1 just refuses to spawn? Whars your route you use to get to umbrils. My current theory is maybe I have to open a door or touch a device or something first, something usually a condition people naturally achieve often, but I might not be when I beeline straight to the elementals on foot (I don't teleport) Generally I port to B and open the door to the fire elemental room and they're in the hallway that exits to the N there. So I don't think so.
Does anything ever resist Purulent Ooze in Gaol?
Ngai for sure, not sure about anything else
Wow I was getting a bst ready to do arebati
Any solo options? Henwen being no seems surprising. Raaz dont have some native water resistance, do they? Theres no correlation between beast and amorph.

Not sure what good solo options exist for Arebati. Dnc? https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Yngvi_Choker
Did anyone ever work out how this works/what it does? Does it increase the rate enmity decreases? Yup But what does +8 mean? 108% the normal rate? Does it have any use anywhere?
Anyone got any ideas for me to solo rp arebati v25?
Still surprised to learn about bst I thought that was the swissarmy knife of rp Kaffy said: » t2 henwen no I think dnc zerg is your best bet for solo Arebati RP.
presto -> box step -> Grand Pas -> zerg for 5% -> die -> reraise. Welp guess it's time to gear up DNC
Wonder if my milage will be the same with drg if I am spending the time to buff Asura.Vyre said: » Does anything ever resist Purulent Ooze in Gaol? Mboze Arebati Ngai (lands fine on it with aura up but good luck getting it into that state solo) For Arebati just Undax3 Rayke is enough to land Ooze. For Mboze sometimes it will be enough but if you want to be 100% sure you need to do Undax3 Rayke AND either water SC (so you can MB ooze on it) or land Frazzle 3. Either of those two will make Ooze 100% landing, in addition to just 3x Unda Rayke which sometimes is not enough. Never had that issue on Arebati. I'm not sure for Henwen, pretty confident the Mboze method I described will work, but probably even just Rayke. Personally I farmed my points on Henwen solo using MNK, or PUP? I forgot, one of the two, I think I tried both and settled for MNK. I was using several trusts and usually I managed to do enough damage to 5% before I died. Had a couple of failures here and there but not too many. Speaking of other T3s, I don't know if Ooze lands on Ongo v25, but you can easily solo >5% on SCH. Likewise I've got no clue on Xevioso V25 and, of course, it lands perfectly fine on Kalunga V25, just BST solo, the same as Bumba V25. Am I missing something about the RP cheese, or is this just trying to absolutely maximize the amount of RP/segs obtained no matter the
Why not go do 3 V25's you know you can do atleast 5% dmg to, exit, do your target at a lower V that you know you can hit HP threshold to get RP, exit and start the cycle anew? edit: I dont think risk should be included since you cant lose your charge unless you gain RP with an amp used. So they're trying to enter one fight, do 6% (or more) damage to a V25target with an amplifier.
https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Moogle_Amp. If I'm reading and understanding that correctly, it should net 2,357RP, correct? So thats 4500 segs for 2357 RP
0.524 RP/seg If you go into 3 Atone1/2 V25, dealing 5% damage each time (can be the same one too), exiting, using amp then entering a lower tier target you want to farm 29 RP each 5% x3 (presume you will turn this back into segs) 6,984RP from the amp + spare change from damage dealt which I wont factor in since it will vary 13413 segs for 6,984 RP 0.521 RP/seg Presuming I havent made any errors, and I dont think I did, this seems godawfully close. Is that extra 0.003 extra RP/seg worth the struggle, especially when failure to deal 5% damage on your target will cost you 3k segs? |
