My first win was a shitty one...
Full ally, filled with BST and DRKs pre adoulin, some healers, etc.
Easy till last form then everyone start wiping.
DRK with twilight set zombied like 50% of PW last form.
The fight lasted almost the dead line.
Well nothing useful to add, just that, if youre worried to lost pop, twilight set will allow you to give all your teammates time to warp home if necessary, call more member, etc. But most likely will be an easy win with adoulin weapons.

You should be able to kill it without astral flow getting off if he's not a *** with intimidates, but I would wear a full set of ilvl gear with a large amount of magic evasion. Astral flow should be pitiful if everyone does this, curagas will easily solve the damage dealt.

Aegis PLD with new gear can survive his AFs now (did it a few weeks back). A MNK also survived but the SAM did not.

There was actually a video of BRD, PLD, and WHM trioing the whole fight before adoulin gear was added. PLD could perhaps solo it now with meds?

Curious if anyone can list the most useful top notch Skirmish gear. I suppose its a "judge for yourself" kind of thing, but I am curious what other peoples views/ideas/suggestions are. :o

Blade: Shun:

Is "Blade: Shun" a Crit WS ? (Some WS Don't)

Can it Double / Triple / Quad ATK ? (some WS Can't that is why i asking)

What besides DEX Should I be Stacking on it? (some WS need more ATK or more ACC to make it work well)

Are there any Penalties for WS itself? (some WS got ATK or ACC Penalty)

What would be the best "SUB" Katana? (With Augments/Path included on reply plz) (I using Pamun main hand)

What is the Gorget / Belt supposed to be using ? (I got Light / Darkness)

Could somebody please post a SET or two for Optimal WS DMG ?

How Can I Make it Stronger than it already is?

I got 2 Kiji (Path C) 1 Kiji (w/o Path) 1 Pamun

1. Read the WS description.

2. It's 5 hits, so I don't see why not.

3. The stats every ws sets use, the original mod, str, atk, multi hit, etc.

4. Yes.

5. Probably str Kiji.

6. The corresponding one.

7. They're probably on the NIN guide.

8. You don't, NIN is bad.

99% of the your answers could be found in wiki tbh

Ya realized that after i posted, ty tho

Wondering cuz there is little to no info on it that clearly says this

Also nin guide SUCKS !!!!!!!! (No Offense) (compared with MNK Guide) Jinjo is a GENIUS !

On top armor isn't even updated on NIN Guide he still using Bayld Armor instead of MB armor / Skirmish

So that is why I don't even bother with it.

1. No it is not a crit WS. All crit based WS (as far as I know) state in the game text that it deals critical damage.

2. As far as I have seen, it can 2x/3x/4x attack.

3. DEX > Attack

4. Last I saw, ~8% Attack penalty. [source is linked on the BG-Wiki page for the WS]

5. Sub Kiji with path A, STR path

6. Flame, Thunder, and Light Gorget/Belt

7. Haven't seen up to date gear sets. The ninja Guide has one for post Delve, but no Skirmish gear is listed.

8. You can toss both EVA path Kiji. Anything that you would take ninja to should be considered fodder and evasion wouldn't be an issue.

9. Most of this information took 2 minutes to look up on FFXI wiki or BG wiki. Check there before posting here in the future.

The Ninja guide has most in depth gearset than the MNK guide. True, the first 2-3 sets does use Bayld gear, but if you read, those are for ppl new to the job. If you look one paragraph down, he lists several gear sets with all gear that was available pre-Skirmish.

Got Kiji Path A (Rank 15) and it does help DMG (due to ATK+15 STR+10 and ACC+10 which just great for multi-hit)

Just Wanted to say Thank you for helping me out on this guys

Blade: Shun:

ItemSet 314292

Kiji Path A Rank 15
Manibozho Brais Path A Rank 15

Total conjecture cuz I'm too lazy to look up spreadsheets, but could compare Vespir to Letalis Mantle and I'd think that Moonshade (TP Bonus) + Brutal should yield a higher dmg output, too.

Also, what's up with the ranged weapon? It serves no function for TP or WS phase

Fire Bomblet maybe.

Though all this may be pointless. We are supposedly getting Emp WS unlocked for all weapons next month.

Just came back to the game. Gearing up RDM.

Are TOM Magic Accuracy staves still relevant for RDM?

I believe Chatoyant is relevant until you get the Delve Soothsayer Staff. item Level Swords now also grant M.Acc but item level staves give more M.Acc such as the Soothsayer Staff. This was assuming you had yet to make the ToM staves, if you already have them than by all means use them until Soothsayer. The M.Acc path is relevant in terms of its various recast time reduction rather than their accuracy now.

Thanks for the answer. I was in the process of making them before I took a break. Chatoyant is it I guess.

Do you reckon RDM is a good/acceptable job to join up the ranks with lower content gear? Or would you suggest leveling another job initially ?

I mained WHM myself as my main job/progression job but RDM would require nice enfeebling sets. Granted I'm speaking mostly from the perspective of you getting in on that slot in Delve Boss runs versus established RDMs who already have those nice enfeeble sets. They did make enfeebling easier by offering weapons like Soothsayer to RDM and even the best RDM sword atm offers decent M.Acc despite being a sword although I believe Soothsayer edges it out though since the Devs weighted the M.Acc bonus distribution to be higher on traditional Mage Weapons.

Having said all that RDM can be a decent addition to a Yorcia Skirmish party with a mix of some Pre SoA gear pieces and Bayld gear. And you'll definitely wanna hit Skirmish first since it offers really competent gear for the effort. You'll want both the Hagondes set and some pieces of the Gende set as well. Also you may want to look into getting a Lehbralig(sp?) the skirmish staff weapon which drops from skirmish as well. you'll wanna +1 it with a KI you get for completing a Yorcia Skirmish. Then Aug it with stones for M.Acc and boom you have a upgrade to Chatoyant. Even without Augments it has decent item lvl so it will give you quite a bit of M.Acc.

MAJOR EDIT!!!!!1111!!: I believe after some reading that Lehbrahlig might actually be pretty damn close to Soothsayer's M.Acc so could prob save yourself the trouble of buying one with plasm and aug'ing it. At the very least Lehbrahlig should be very serviceable for M.Acc needs.

Can an augment be removed from a skirmish weapon? I have 2 Lehbrailg +1 and was hoping to send one to a mule now that you can.
