TH wont wear off if the thf dies. Only way it will wear off is if the monster goes passive.
I don't even think they lose TH when passive. When LAC in SSR1 uses Brainjack and everyone is charmed, it goes passive, but subsequent TH procs reflect the previously achieved TH value, so I think it has to die to reset it.

Easy to test, go in Aby > tag a mob > Flux > try to get a TH proc higher than your natural+gear.

Can TH exceed 12?
Didn't someone post a screen of th14 once? Either way I think the higher it gets the tougher it becomes to proc and also the benefit decreases.

But I'm drunk and coughing from gunpowder, I'm not sure right now!

So I just downloaded XI view, and it says to extract it to the folder pertaining to my resolution. Where exactly would that be?

I think you misread the instructions. You choose the source folder based on your resolution, not the destination. Actual docs say:
Quote:
To install XI View download then extract the archive and then choose the folder pertaining to your monitor resolution (normal screen or wide screen) and then copy the ROM folder to your FFXI directory choosing yes when prompted to overwrite any files.

10%, so it depends on what you take:

~100 damage on average gets reduced to 90,
~1000 reduced to 900, etc.

Yes, the harder you are hit, the more a % of DT will be effective. If you're hit for 10, 10% DT will only reduce damage taken by 1. If you're hit for 1000, 10% DT will reduce damage by 100. 10% is still 10%, and it's a flat scale.

Look I'll simplify this for you. Let's say a monster hit for 100 damage and it hit you 10 times in a minute that's 1000 damage over all yeah? No lets say that you had -10%pdt that knocks every hit down to 90 damage per hit 10x90 is 900 damage in the same time span. So -10% is just that it's a percentile reduction. It will never be better than its self however macroing -pdt/-mdt in before a monster tp move/hundred fists(I hate you <_<) and then switching back to your tp set would be smart. I've got the feeling you don't use tp/ws/-pdt sets though.

Your thinking was correct, but your phrasing was poor.

10% damage will always lower your damage taken by 10%, if you get hit for 10 or 1000. Thus its not "better" at high dmg. It is more useful at high damage because taking 100 less damage from a hit that should do 1000 is more likely to stop you from getting 1 shotted and leave your healer with less to cure than taking 1 less damage on a hit for 10 damage.

Edit: at least that is what I assume your train of thought was.

This makes me think what if s/e nerfed all the 1shot moves and made them all have 80% haste instead. Suddenly all end game mobs have hundred fist, the horror. D:

Everything in tav is pretty easy to kill. I'm not sure what you mean by good blu camps as its a dreamland zone so ja/magic/ws will cycle around the map. I personally like:
hornet(ja)+worm(ws)>>cluster(ja)>>worm(ja)+leech(ja)

as a blue depending on how magic procs are maybe:
cluster(magic)>>cluster(ja) or worm(magic)>>>worm(ja)+leech(ja)

AS for tauri, they aren't bad to fight, but they seem to proc slower to me.
