DNC Knife Question...
DNC Knife question...
I'm currently using a pair of Behemoth Knives, and was just wondering if it was worth it to get a Jambiya (or two) to replace? It's only an extra 2 DMG, and I'd lose the +8 attack on each of the Behemoth Knives...so yeah, should I stick with what I got, or get a Jambiya to replace one (or both)?
I love the sound of it, I had one on Thf for awhile, lol.
Get an Azoth and Adder Jambiya +1. Sheesh... Stop being cheap.
Or even and Azoth and Joyeuse.

I support the Azoth, but Jambiya +1 is just a pipedream imo. No one makes it unless for personal use, and chances are pretty slim. I wouldn't even think about a Jam+1.

Azoth would leave me with 0 gil...not happening anytime soon. Gonna be camping for Joyeuse soon, but in the meantime...
EDIT: Adder Jambiya +1, yeah right LOL. I'm about 3 million short for the NQ.
If you really want to dump the money into it get 2 Behemoth +1. Otherwise I would go with Jambiya/Behe(+1).

Anyways, thanks for the advice...was thinking about Behemoth's +1 as well...but that's almost half my bankroll lol...so just seeing about lesser alternatives.

Ya, I'd love it for Campaign and all the other situations where Drain Samba III is enough to mitigate damage...
Also what's that merit abilty? Somthing Foot Rise? Doesn't that give tp along with Reverse Flourish? So moar WS once you merit it!

Yeah, that's first on the plate when I start meriting, gonna max out No Foot Rise, and when that's complete start working on Reverse Flourish return. Then prolly dex and hp/mp. At least, that's the plan as of now lol
I'll be using an Azoth and a Behemoth Knife +1. The Jambiya is very sexy, but I'm partial to the +10 attack.
I'd say save up for the Azoth for main hand and camp Charby for your offhand and in the meanwhile use a Behe (+1 if you can). The attack and HP bonus easily makes up for the dmg and delay difference.

Considering that a blau 100% TP or higher has HORRIBLE stats and that DNC.. well.. normally have TP higher than 100% the blau is a TERRIBLE weapon for DNC. The only reason youd ever use one would be if you were in a situation where you were spamming your TP every 100% - which probobly wouldnt happen ordinarily.

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it. I just didn't know how the extra 4 damage on a pair of Jambiya's would compare to the +16 attack on the NQ Behemoths. I figured the +attack would result in more overall damage, but wasn't sure. Jambiya is relatively easy for me to swing financially...Azoth not so much, at this point.

Yeah, I'm gonna work towards the Azoth for sure...for now I guess I'll just stick with what I got, and then swap in either the joyeuse or Azoth...whichever comes first.

Low sword skill or not, Joytoy can be very good. It's situational, but for a lot of things (lowman events, solo, exp with pizza/sushi) your acc will be capped and would be better than a 2nd dagger for tp gain. I'd personally keep an Azoth for main hand and swap the sub weapon with Behe+1 and Joytoy situationaly as needed.

It's better to use a Joyeuse and miss 50% of the time with it than it is to use a dagger and miss 5% of the time. You will get 6 TP from the Joyeuse and only 4-5 from daggers, with no Store TP. And no, missing out on 46 ACC will not lower your hit rate by 45%.

Like Vegetto says, it is situational.
I'd personally prefer the additional stats a dagger gives.
Mine isn't 75 yet, so hey, I guess I can't really talk.
Just from what I've experienced, even with sword merits, I like dagger x2.

Used Behe+1 as main and sub till LS basically gave me joyuese. now i can imagine being without it. HAD an azoth but had a blonde moment and sold it to sponsor my bonecrafting. biggest mistake ever but selling reraise hairpins and i should have enough to buy another one once i break latent on my main gauche. someday i aim to have an adder though. even if just to play with and eventually sell.
