It happens if you go through the gate without paying and/or if you don't have an airship pass (on an airship... think it'd be the same with the ferry). I assume if you were there for long enough the game just forgot that you paid or whatever. If you didn't die, at least.

Assuming you weren't in a party with someone that had access to warp 2, my guess is you died while AFK :/

a GM could have moved you. I knew in the past, GMs would move fishermen deom one spot to another to see if they where botting or not
