Black March
What are your thoughts?
I'll be honest, I thought this would be about something completely different

Tweeted it to my 10 followers, it's a start! Too bad they can't do this in April, Mass Effect 3 comes out March 6th and I am buying like 4 copies.

Why would you buy 4 copies? lol Odin.Eikechi said: » Phoenix.Lillicarnage said: » Too bad they can't do this in April, Mass Effect 3 comes out March 6th and I am buying like 4 copies. Why would you buy 4 copies? lol I played 1 and 2 on PC so I am continuing it on that, getting it on 360 to play it with Kinect controls, on PS3 to compare it with the 360 version, and another copy on 360 as a late X-mas gift for my friend. I was thinking this would be about another civil rights march.
Shared this on my facebook so... well my mom knows about it now, hope that helps.

Not just to send a message to companies, but perhaps a test of your sanity. Don't buy any media for a month, is it really that hard? For some people going without water would be easier.

Some things are more important than video games, kids. Sorry for being such a *** and buying video games? I have been waiting over a year for this game and ME1+2 were such amazing games that I don't mind paying for it (4 times) so that the people who made it can see some return. Sure one could download it for free but the way I see it that is part of what got us in this mess in the first place.

Of course he can do whatever he wants with his money, but it's still why something like Black March won't work. People are too caught up in the cycle of endless, mindless consumerism to actually pull off a media boycott. The media industry probably doesn't even fear something like Black March because they know that they've got an army of consumer zombies who will buy their crap no matter what kind of HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE ***they try to shove into the legal system. You waited a year. You can wait another *** month. It's a choice you can make. Boycotts only work when people make sacrifices. Sure, one person doesn't really make that much of a difference. But it's just like flowers in a park. If one person chooses to not obey the signs and pick a flower, it's not a really huge deal. The problem with this is that people are just going to pick the flower anyway because they can't help themselves. We're really a pathetic society. I have bought maybe 3 video games since i have gotten ffxi... kinda sad prolly but rly its the only game i have needed since then lmao <3 i will be partaking in this lol gogo black march!
One person won't make that much of a difference hmmm...
It's kinda like how a few years ago when torrents and p2p stuff was all coming out and everyone thought well I am just downloading one thing, as long as a lot of people aren't doing this it isn't like it is going to do enough damage that anyone is going to really do anything about it. Now it has gone on long enough and on a large enough scale that actions are being taken and laws are being made. You reap what you sow and we have abused the system enough that the rules are going to end up changing because of it. I think we all need to just quit bellyaching and start thinking about how we can use and enjoy the internet within the laws which will at some point in some form become official. Phoenix.Morningbliss said: » What are your thoughts? ![]() Dear, Mr Cyber-War person I am Commander Sheppard and the reapers must be stopped. If you dont like it well you can come face me in March. Renegade Points +15 I guess I am just not seeing it as the horrible thing everyone else is making it out to be. I think part of the reason is because I was the security manager for the network on my last ship in the Navy so it was my job to monitor web traffic and block sites that the Navy felt needed to be blocked. Even with the internet heavily censored and many things blocked it was still a useful tool and source of entertainment.
You have to draw lines when it comes to freedom. I have a right to eat but that does not mean I can walk into a bakery and take a loaf of bread, as the baker has a right to make the bread and make money selling it to me. There are reasons there are laws in place and it is usually after the abuse has occurred. In my bread example I am sure at some point in time stealing bread was not against the law until it became a problem and then a law was made, though I doubt that bread thieves rose up in protest about it. Bottom line is a lot of people use the internet to do bad things, not everyone, but in this case there is no easy way to single out the criminals so the government is forced to swat the fly with a Doesnt this also mean everything will have to be "reviewed" before its posted etc? How would that affect a MMO if they decide to take it that far?
