I'm personally excited about this since I loved boss rush modes in old games like Castlevania and DMC. The loot in pool thing makes me cringe since drama is likely to occur but lets hope it doesn't blow chunks.

all my years on this game and don't think I've ever seen linkshells cooperate when it comes to loot.

I'm also hoping that a good group of players can beat this with 18-20, yes. We generally don't shout for pick-ups for our 'shell events; it's not too much trouble to get together an alliance's worth of members as long as people know in advance that we'll be doing something.
I might of missread, but you'd be better off limiting yourself to 18 or 36. If you go over 18 I think the difficulty level will go up to 36 players.

I could be wrong...
No, might be a good point. If the difficulty jumps to the 36 "level" for groups over 18 then yeah, we'd be better off just putting together a single alliance. All I was meaning was the shell I'm with likely won't have a problem filling 1-2 alliances; Whatever works better.

Cerberus.Tikal said:
Co-operating linkshells is another idea.
We've done this in the past, too. It can work out well, as long as there is a solid understanding among the shells' leaders as to how things will be tracked and all that.

I used to daydream about this... fishing @ buburimu... looking down noticing a cave thinking "I bet that cave is where SE keeps a leigon of NMs." Trifle of a thought, for sure.

years later...

Now- ya'll gonna be warpin to that cave, the cavern... of wonder.

Oh yeah. and what happen if the leader from both ally QM's who gets it?

I hope there is no winning this. I hope it goes on until you wipe, getting harder and harder, or having less and less time to recoop between NMs.

It's this kind of thinking that makes me sad the content is the way it is.

Why can't the devs think of things like this to spice it up somewhat? A survival mode Einherjar? I'll friggin' take it!

FF7 battle arena-ish would be fun.

The Cave of Wonders ftw! <3 Aladdin!
Looking forward to Legion! :D Sounds good and challenging. I just hope no Abyssea Atma ect will be in it. Go old school on it to make it more well...as I say, challenging.
Abyssea has made this game not so challenging due to Atmas/temp items ect.
/prays Legion doesn't have Abyssea crap.
And I hope to God....that Legion will have good gear worthy enough to do this event for. lol

I think it will be like Einherjar, but are there really that many people to go around now days? In the old days, Ein groups were formed and they had systems that worked, there aren't as much people now though imo. There are so many low man shells and very few bigger LS's. I guess they either want people to do shout groups or team up for one event.

Mindless zerging against big guns ,treasure pool, gear through points no stupid staggering...What are we waiting for? Best idea SE has had for the new year
Only 2 questions: 1.Is TH going to affect this event? and 2.If the more you kill the better the treasure then it wont be falling as you kill mobs but till the end? and looks like theres no win and lose here can still get stuff if you dont kill em all...

Howdy everyone!

Thanks for all the feedback thus far.

I will have another post ready in just a little while to share some more information about Legion, but in the meantime I would like to share a post from Director Mizuki Ito with you which gives some insight into the new Legion content

Mizuki Ito said:
Hello! This is Director Mizuki Ito.

With the test server update, we have implemented “Legion (formerly The Last Stand)”

We have already mentioned this in the overview, but Legion is a new type of battle content that is geared towards 18-36 players with high level characters. Since it is a reserved area system, it might be easy to understand what it is if you imagine the atmosphere of Limbus.

With the large scale Legion content and the smaller scale Nyzul Isle Uncharted Region, our goal is to increase the options to you depending on how many people you have.

We added this to the test server with this recent update so that you could get an idea what kind of system Legion is as well as get a feel for the general flow of the content from beginning to end.

We will be constantly adjusting the system, meaning battle balance of course, as well as drop rates and the amount of Legion point rewards, so please let us know all of your feedback.

would be hard to properly test this since the test server usually has a dozen people in at at the most at any time :/ usually when i'm on there is 2 or 3

If they haven't changed anything on the test server then no, because the NPCs are broke, you can't enter whatsoever.

Alrighty, now for the promised post. Sorry it took me a bit!

I would like to apologize for the inconvenience of not being able to properly test this content due to a bug. (This has been fixed!)

Many players have requested that this content be accessible to smaller parties, but as Director Ito stated, Legion is meant for large parties. This does not mean that we do not plan on implementing new content for smaller parties. As the “Nyzul Isle Investigation” is meant for smaller parties, Legion is meant for larger parties. We hope you understand.

Quote:
I understand that this content involves claimed zones, but is it possible for multiple parties to simultaneously enter the same zone?
I really hope that the tragedies of the old Dynamis and Limbus areas are not repeated.
Similarly to the “Nyzul Isle Investigation,” the claimed zones in Legion will turn into an instance. Although there will be a limit, multiple parties will be able to simultaneously enter the same area.

Quote:
I am genuinely happy that we are given 30 minutes for this content.
However, I would like the difficulty to be adjusted based on the number of players participating.

If one legion pass is traded, the difficulty will be set for 18 players.
If two legion passes are traded, the difficulty will be set for 18 players plus the number of additional players in the second pass (6, 12 or 18 players).
We adjust the difficulty based on the number of players participating by adjusting the strength of the monsters that appear.

Other than that, there are no differences based on the number of players, so players will be able to enjoy the same battle content and obtain the same loot and legion points whether they have 18 players or 36.
※Although the content may be the same, it is possible for an alliance of 36 players to be able to obtain more loot, since they will be able to defeat more monsters.

Quote:
I do not want items to be dropped using the lotting system! I want items to be dropped as individual rewards!
The reward system for Legion is separated into the lotting system and trading for legion points. Trading for legion points is more similar to the individual reward system that you bring up.

Also, since this content has a time limit, we decided that obtaining loot from treasure chests would take up too much time. There is no limit to the number of monsters that appear, so players can maximize their obtained loot by defeating more monsters within the given time.

I would like players to creatively strategize to obtain as much loot as possible in one run.

the main problem with this system is its geared toward big LS and those went away over a year ago. Voidwatch wasnt able to bring back big LS even though many people tried to. There just isnt enough content to warrent making a big ls.

I bet it will just be down through shouts like voidwatch is.

They haven't gone away. A "big" LS these days has 18-24 people show up to events, with the occasional 25+ event.

Ls's leaders are going to be happy to get priority on everything they want again?

I want HNMs back but this looks like a promising start!

The best LS leaders don't call priority on everything they want. Rather, they work by the same rules as other members, or even forgo items they want for other members. The LS's you are thinking of likely don't exist anymore, for good reason.

^ this. In fact I'm glad we're going to start getting into more content again that will actually reward people for showing up to events consistently. With VW, you don't honestly "need" to do anything with your ls. You can get a pick up group for anything.

I don't know what game you are playing, that certainly don't sound like the same game I was playing before abys. All I know every top asura ls leader and his/her gf/bf, mother, father, sister, brother and dogs all have the gear they want first before passing onto the *** kisser officers then to the officers *** kisser then finally to slave peasents. Sometime these slave will get a bone or two before the LS declare retirement.

DKP systems exist to prevent that kind of abuse.

Agreed. I can't speak for Asura, but there are likely fair shells with DKP systems on most every server.
