Riftcinder/Riftdross is pretty much taken care of. Let's face it, it's the easiest of the trials.
Pandemonium Warden and Dynamis Lord might be monsters in Legion, however. It's a far stretch that they'd drop their respective items, honestly, a big might, but it's not impossible.

lol @ building a relic is a challenge. The only things that the relic building process challenges are my patience and my friend's patience when I tell them that I need them for a month to kill an NM that they won't benefit from.

If you read any of the adjustments that come with an update, you see that VW is listed under Abyssea, as for the HKSNM dropping seals.. I don't even know what they were thinking lol.

Personally, I don't consider grinding a challenge at all. ADL itself is still quite the challenge to topple so I could understand Trial Kills, but the items part of the stage is stupid. They should keep that crap in Abyssea, not bring it to relics/mythics that have had to collect a greater amount of things with added wait times.

Biggest problem is the burden of relics/mythics is now shifted back to a linkshell.
With the ease of Dynamis now, I find it very hard to believe anyone would be wholeheartedly and willingly say "screw it, I know i could be pulling 1.5-3.5m in Dynamis myself, instead I'm going to do ADL for a month to finish 1/xxx relics/mythics to 99".
Trials at least offer the opportunity for the individual to team up with people across the server to complete their weapon while still offering the other drops to those who actually want them.
I would voice my concerns on the OF, but this is only the latest stream of diarrhea to come from the *** of Square Enix, and my ability to open my mouth in contempt was removed long ago.

If the trial stands as is, I'll never create another relic, and I won't touch a mythic. Empyreans are really the only rational way to go, and 1500 HMP is still really bad.

To be honest, 10PWs aren't too bad. I mean, it's a Lv75 content boss and sure you have to kill a ton of little crap to get to it, but it's not like they're that hard either. Also, think I heard somewhere about them raising the amount of Zeni you get per plate turned in so...
1500 plates, yes is still kinda crap, and I often worry about if you're not working on getting them now, whenever Voidwatch dies out, you're screwed forever unless you have a linkshell help you finish. Then with the temp item nerf impending I wonder how much more difficult it will become.

However, that's a linkshell/shout event put together to go and kill it. One of those wastes the LS's time, the other is iffy at best as far as winning.

Just get PW keys from gob, np.
The items need to drop from the lower tiers period.
Arch bosses should drop ~1 relic upgrade item. ADL can drop ~5.
T4 ZNMs should drop ~1.
Empyrean weapons are a joke to upgrade.
Someone suggested this on the official forum so I'm pseudo-quoting them due to laziness, but I think it's the best idea suggested so far. Otherwise, they need to reduce ADL kills to 10 (at least) and make them killshots.

However, that's a linkshell/shout event put together to go and kill it. One of those wastes the LS's time, the other is iffy at best as far as winning. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of the details since I'm not terribly familiar with the total zeni required for a PW pop but isn't it 75,500 zeni? This includes 9 T1's 9 T2's 9 T3's 3 T4's and 1 T5, the 3 access fees of 1500 each for the T4's and this is absolute minimum price which you're not gunna get considering how many other people are going to be going for it...
You're limited to 10 plates per day. I know there are some mobs worth more but the most consistant mob I know of is nauls for ~100 each. So that's about 1k per vana day. Even given that you have 3 chars that's only 3000 per vana day. Or 72,000 for a 24 hour period.
That's only if you can be there at the start or end of every day for the entire duration. Even if never miss a day you still can't finish the zeni for a PW pop in a day much less actually walk to and kill all 30 nms.
If a "day's work" is literally 24 hours then you're "kinda right" and you're view of farming a pop set is not realistic for you either.
This isn't an attempt at bashing anyone but I think we all need to be realistic in how much freaking work this is.

| [dev1065] Relic, Mythic, and Empyrean Weapon Upgrades
With the forthcoming version update, players will be able to upgrade equipment to level 99 in two stages:
Stage 1
Possible upgrades will include damage, delay, and weapon skill damage along with other attributes.
The planned difficulty level for the corresponding Magian upgrade trials will be such that a majority of players with the appropriate level 95 equipment will likely be able to complete them.
*This content is not yet available on the test server.
Step 2
Possible upgrades will include special animations along with "Afterglow" effects that grant status benefits to party members.
The corresponding Magian trials will be exceedingly difficult to complete, such that only a select number of PCs will be able to upgrade weapons to this stage.
*Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla may not be imbued with Afterglow effects.
Upgraded Attributes
Please refer to the following charts for descriptions of upgraded weapon attributes:
To test this content, please talk to the Magian Moogle and input the corresponding trial number, as listed in the charts above.
Afterglow
Upgrading a weapon to stage two will result in the addition of an Afterglow effect.
Afterglow bestows beneficial status effects upon party members in an area surrounding (but excluding) the wielder.
*Party members must be inside the specified area when Afterglow is activated to receive status effects.
The duration for each Afterglow is thirty seconds.
*The effect of a certain Afterglow will be overwritten if an identical one is activated within that thirty-second timeframe.
Separate Afterglow effects will stack if they are cast within the same effect duration.
There are five categories of Afterglow effects:
- Relic Weapons: Increased accuracy and ranged accuracy
- Mythic weapons: Increased attack and ranged attack
- Empyrean weapons: Increased critical hit rate
- Aegis: Reduced magic damage taken
- Ochain: Reduced physical damage taken
Afterglow effects activate when the weapon skill corresponding to the equipped weapon
For Aegis and Ochain, the effects activate when Shield Bash is used.
The hierarchy for overwriting Aftermath and Afterglow effects is as follows:
One's Own Aftermath: Lv3>Lv2>Lv1>Party Member's Afterglow

Weapons upgraded to stage two will display special visual effects when equipped:

Mythic Weapons

Empyrean Weapons

Visual effects will display in the following priority:
Main Weapon>Ranged Weapon>Sub Weapon
Other Information of Note
Additional planned features, such as equipment-specific magic spells and pets, have been postponed to allow for more thorough testing concerning attributes, the number of potential users and the process by which to obtain them. One consideration is whether to implement such features as another stage of the above upgrades, or to apply them to a different set of equipment. Also under deliberation is whether to limit the availability of such equipment or make it relatively simple to obtain.
