Anyone running WinXP 32bit wanna try something out for me rq?
if you can run it in 32bit xp mode
http://www.chaosxinc.com/test.zip
Well if anyone can, unzip all that in the same folder and run test.exe and let me know if you see Mario skipping on some tiles for a second. It works... it crashed though. The colors were inverted too.
Maybe because it's full screen? (my laptop doesn't handle full screen stuff at all) Ok good thanks! I just wanted to make sure the stand alone exe thing worked. Yeah it's 8bit color mode too, so...
10th EDIT: As long as it's not asking for some random dll's Siren.Kalilla said: » It works... it crashed though. The colors were inverted too. Maybe because it's full screen? that and opengl is opensource so you can tinker with it as you need. not sure how well that would work in visual studio though... I'm about to give a whirl with virtualbox to get directx to work in an opengl container sometime in the near future, I'll let you know how that goes. unfortunately my only working experience with visual studio is in visual basic and limited at that... and the guy in my class who's a wiz at it doesn't do well with C programming isn't my strong suite in the least... i agree with the opengl, when i was looking at what to code it in i figured opengl would be the best since its multiplatform and opensource, i figured c/c++ would be more than we need for what we want to do though, so java or C# would better suite the task at hand while C++ is usually the go-to, for the relatively small project that we're doing, that we cant really distribute unless we redo a good few characters and screens, i just think C++ is way more than we really need. I think java or C# would be much better suited to what we're wanting to do I hate java and C# wasn't invented when I went to college so I'm not going to learn a new language. I did all my object oriented design, data structures, systems analysis, and operating systems classes in C/C++ so I'm going with what I know.
Although SDL does have a section for pascal, but pascal was so high school, lol. Transparency in sprites is a go.
I need a name for the TRPG version, any ideas?
Final Fantasy Tactics: AH
There might be a trade mark problem with that...
I was thinking somewhere along the lines of AH Tactics, or AH Force.
Gay Lawn Mower Service: Extreme Edition?
i wait what? Super Auction House Tactics

FFXIAH: Ultra Super Arcade Extreme Alpha III Turbo Tournament Online (Deluxe Edition) Tactics
Super Auction house Tactics siblings 3: the levels that were forgotten about
Can just name is Auction House Brawl, but make it all epic looking, lightning fire and ***and lasers D:<
I can't think of anything creative :( Well since I'm basically going by Shining Force II, since I just recently played the game all the way through, I wanted to go with AH Force. But that seems kinda lame.
