Worst case scenario for my set: capped attack, capped acc, capped marches, capped dDEX, and capped fSTR, my set would be about .4% worse. Anytime you get either of those uncapped, my set would be better. And I know you're not one to gear for the minority of a situation.

Austar is correct.

My spreadsheet wasn't applying +5 to marches to both sets, and I had mis-input the Thaumas set bonuses ^^

It has always bothered me that our knowledge of Haste Samba came from a few FRAPS tests, so I went to the Test Server the other day and did some Haste Samba testing. After I finished, I realized I should have done it in a slightly different way, which I'll explain later.

So I made two scripts:
Code
No Foot Rise;
wait 2;
Reverse Flourish;
wait 2;
>THIS PART VARIES<;
wait 110;

The varying part was either Haste Samba or Box Step. Then I ran each of them while hitting a Hpmede for 0 with two Trainee daggers (D1) and 65 STR (fSTR = -1 against the highest level Hpmede). No DA.

In 5528 seconds, I had 1117 attack rounds with Box Step and used a total of 116 JAs.

In 4582 seconds, I had 1036 attack rounds with Haste Samba and used a total of 77 JAs. Haste Daze "wore off" the monster 20 times, one of which was caused by me double-missing.

I also did a test to confirm it's additive with other forms of Haste, which we already pretty much knew but was nice to see:

In retrospect, I should have been using Haste Samba/JAs on one character and just attacking with a second character. That way there's no potential variability based on the number of JAs. Because I was using approximately the same ratio of JA:Attacks in the first two tests it isn't incredibly relevant and wouldn't be expected to affect my results, but it's an issue I could have avoided.

tl;dr:
Haste Samba is likely 101/1024 at 5/5 merits and 51/1024 with no merits + from sub.

So I have a BRD mule. Full AF3+2. Instrument for marches is Faerie Piccolo. Instrument for minuets is Apollo's Flute

Currently I've been running with this set:

I've been singing myself double march, but instead, should I sing myself March/Minuet, or should I make some gear swaps? Or both? Or should I just not use haste samba? >_<

I have Rancor Collar and Ghillie Earring +1 that I could play with.

I'm actually learning how delay, dual wield, and haste all tie together, so please tell me if this is right.

Using my weapons:
Total combined delay: 391
Lowest possible delay: 20% of 391 = 78.2
Dual Wield Trait: 30%
Dual Wield from current gear: 8%
Total Dual Wield: 38%
Spell Haste: 15%
Victory March: 12.5%
Advancing March: 9.375%
Gear Haste: 24%
Haste Samba: 10%
Total Haste: 70.875%

Actual Delay: 391 * (1-.38) * (1-.70875) = 70.6

Since I can't get below 78.2, I have too much delay reduction somewhere.

So if I were to substitute in Rancor Collar and Ghillie Earring +1 then
Actual Delay: 391 * (1-.30) * (1-.70875) = 79.7

If I were to just substitute in Ghillie Earring +1 and leave the Charis Necklace on, then
Actual Delay: 391 * (1-.33) * (1-.70875) = 76.3

So would it be better to substitute in just the earring and make sure I'm "capped" or would it be better to drop that small amount under the delay cap? Or is my math totally *** up?

38% DW
24% Haste

101/1024 Haste from Haste Samba
150/1024 Haste from Haste spell
144/1024 Haste from Victory March (no Marcato)
= 23% Delay without advancing

112/1024 Haste from Advancing March
= 16.4% delay with advancing (over the cap)

I'd wear AF3+2 body, AF3+2 feet, Rancor Collar, and Brego Gloves or something. Then you're at 80% delay without Advancing March and can pick up a Minuet.

The net change would be:
STR+5, Attack+76 average (maybe more with food), Store TP+8, Set proc rate +2%, Critical Hit Rate +5%
DEX-2, Double Attack-6%, Triple Attack -3%, Quadruple Attack-3%, Damage Taken +10%

You lose some multi-attack but gain a ton of Attack and some other nice bonuses.

Your numbers for March are from the 75 cap, I think. Here are some updated ones:

http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Category:March

http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Category:Minuet

Also, remember that you can Marcato the minuet about half the time with Troub, while Marcatoing the March gains you pretty much nothing.

Ah ok. Well with Advancing at 9.5% and Victory at 12.7%, then that would put my total haste at 71.2.
If I only sub in Rancor Collar and Ghillie+1 and keep the Thaumas gear, that puts me at 78.8 delay which is just shy of cap.

I recently gave away my Brego Gloves and it's not worth the inventory to buy another pair right now, so I'm wearing Thaumas Gloves either way, which both situations put me just a lil shy of cap.

Current set as a mithra puts me at 139 dex. With double marches, it puts me at 149 dex.
With your suggestion, gear puts me at 145 dex, with V March taking me to 150 dex.
I don't know if dDEX is a factor or not, but I could potentially gain 1% crit rate from your suggestion.
Since I don't have Brego Gloves, there wouldn't be any difference in str.

I dunno, kinda hard to give up all those multi-hits, but maybe it does pay off. I guess I could try it but I have no way of parsing it accurately.

If you have AF3+2 hands, it's 10.9 and 14% Haste for Advancing and Victory.

Wow I derped. Thanks for that. So I'm delay capped whether I just swap in Rancor and Ghillie or if I swap in Rancor and AF3+2 body and feet and using Minuet5.

Guess it's all a matter of more hits or stronger hits then.

I believe that Aluh is better than Lux Pugio as an off-hand since Rudra's isn't a crit-based WS; the STR from Aluh does it good rather than the DEX from the Lux

i've a kila+2, 43dmg 190delay 9str 20attack, do you think that would be better than using lux pugio offhand and using evisceration in dynamis?

mainhand is coruscanti.

why keep a Lux Pugio if you have a Coruscanti is the question.

But, I believe the STR dagger always beats Lux as a off-hand if you have an Aluh or ToM STR dagger

Aluh may beat +2 STR dagger, it's hard to say without doing the math explicitly, and I'm busy building my Join Avenue in Pokemon White 2, lol.

didnt know if the ddex and more crit rate would help.

With Coruscanti, I think your fine on DEX/Crit rate, better to go with STR dagger so your WS can hit harder and your melee attacks hit harder

40 x 80k is 3.2mil, still not 5.2mil! did you buy them when they were higher?

this isnt taking into account ifritite, but those are negligible.
