F-YEAH 50% WALTZ POTENCY CAP im actually pretty excited about that, though we'll see what kind of cluster *** inventory space i need to clog for 21%
I don't even think I can hit 30 by myself ^_^
well off hand there is uh
af2+2 head 7%, anwig is currently not an anwig af1 10% shoes 4% roundel 5% plectrum 1% ring 3% then there's phurba that has been in storage since i got it and probably stay that way. i'm too lazy to squeeze anything further than 2% out of the shoes quest, i'm super behind in campaign because i always hated it, i use anwig for 3/healing and etoile for 4/5
i guess i could see phurba being relevant if support dnc ever becomes viable again. Just a silly thought but I thought I'd throw it out there.
But what if Dancer had the skill cap, weapon selection, job traits and viable utility to use hand to hand weapons, would it be worth using over daggers for general situations? I think it'd be cool to have the ability to jump between piercing and blunt on the fly, but alas, SE seems to weigh heavily on specialty weapon types for various jobs. it would definitely be worth using against bones, and thats good enough for me.

Yeah, I just recall being in campaign and seeing Sonya or whatever her name is wielding avengers of sorts, and I thought that martial arts in it's own right holds a great deal of rhythm and grace as demonstrated by any respectable martial arts film. While daggers seem more fitting to the form and figure along with the lore of what a dancer is, leaving a razor sharp edge in the wake of their fluid movements, I can't help but wish DNC had a yin to their yang in stance and motion, yet equally effective and fundamentally identical in purpose and efficiency. Wishful thinking sadly. speaking of cool dancers, why is it so unbalanced that we dont get ***like what sonya or lilisette has |:
We also don't get Mayakov's Footstool Kick :<
I always did wonder why the DNC NPCs in campaign used H2H, though.
Shoulda made Merit Category #3 be the dance moves Mumor has.
LOVELY MIRACLE WALTZ! SHINING SUMMER SAMMMMBAAA!!!! Here's your dose of early morning
Fire Thokcha beats Coruscanti offhand for Twashtars by a smidgen according to current spreadsheets (assuming Exenterator usage) Unless: (1.) Berserk is up or attack is otherwise very high relative to your target. (2.) fSTR is capped otherwise (Boost-STR) It's so close though that ODSD will barely have to do anything to beat Thokcha for an offhand. ODSD needs to average out at like +2dps at the most to pull ahead always 8V Incoming Fuzzy Math Assuming it's OQD, and your normal average damage from a Coru hit is D, and crit rate is capped - making a lot of the assumptions I've made before but it's not too important to worry about: Dps from Coruscanti = (1.38(D+0.3D))/(1.59) = 1.12 D Let P be the proc rate of Coruscanti's ODSD then we can estimate that if it's some P % of OQD, then to beat X dps from Thokcha, we need P >= (1.15(X+1.12D)-1.3D)/(3.9D) so if D = 60 and X = 5 then the proc rate only needs to be greater than 2.1% to win. If D = 60 and X = 10 (as in we need 10 dps to beat thokcha - which is pretty unreasonable seeing as there's usually 0.1-2 difference between them depending on how I set the mob stats) then we need a 4.6% proc rate to win. tl;dr Mathematically, it won't take much ODSD to beat Thokcha for an offhand. ----------------------------------------------------- If you're using Coruscanti, Charis Feather appears to beat out Potestas Bomblet (but Bomblet is superior for Thokcha). Added some more math to the morning math dealing with how powerful ODSD needs to be to edge out Thokcha. I also make the assumption that a crit is ~2x your normal hit damage.
Which isn't really all that unreasonable. It's just an estimate after all. Actually, I retract my morning math, they're probably even (Thokcha/Coruscanti). The spreadsheet doesn't seem to account for Coruscanti affecting mainhand crit rate ^^
Did SE address ODSD yet or is there like.... any news? I've read your earlier posts and the couple coruscanti threads but was there a resolution or hint at resolution to the "does nothing atm"?

I refuse to use them due to the sea of "Can you give my samurai lightsaber?" posts or "Can you move the selection cursor for OP warp?". It's like allakhazam became the official forum and the designers only cater to the "haste takes time to proc" crowd. Bismarck.Sylow said: » anyway F-YEAH 50% WALTZ POTENCY CAP You FEWELL! According to the announcement we already have a 50% Waltz cap! Oh wait . . . no we don't. oh derp, i could edit the spreadsheet to give twashtar +5% crit

Well, they lump waltz and healing into the same category. So what they say, "for a combined bonus of no more than 50%" is still technically true if waltzes cap at 30% and healing magic caps at 50%. Was it ever confirmed if Body AF2+2's Violent Flourish was better then AF2?
No, and it's difficult to test, and it also doesn't matter, and the NFR enhancement is worth having.
