Tablets And E-readers

Ok, so thinking about getting my son either the kindle fire/nook or a tablet for christmas, i was more leaning towards the newer ereaders though, since they are on a {tablet kinda level} but are more geared still towards books... Wanted to get everyones opinion though if by chance some of you may have them.

Was looking at the kindle fire vs nook color vs nook tablet.. unsure though which one might be better
Thoughts? opinions?

Yea i read that earlier, still very indesisive about it all though, it seems like both are very good for a "entry level" tablet... was thinking though that the kindle might be better for the ereader, but customization is better on the nook

My nook color is rooted, and it is fricken perfect.

now whats the difference between the nook color and the nook tablet?.. just apps and such and being able to do video's.... and for that matter can the kindle fire do videos' like netflix streaming and such

really like the Nook Touch, its light, doesnt have light (to fuk up your eyes) and has a touch screen, and rather cheap

only thing i dont like about that is you cant web browse, and its not color...

I got the color version of it, and returned it, because it was a tad heavy, and the backlight of the color one was bright at the default setting, hurted my eyes after some time of reading.
as for browser, could always root any of both of them

Love my Nook Color. I bought one before I deployed out and it's really convenient to carry around. Load up PDF files onto it of books that aren't available yet in Nook format and read them. And if you're looking for really pretty (and kind of pricy but I love the detail) carrying cases here is a nice site to check out. =d
