Not trying to troll at all, I just noticed you yourself don't have any Empyrean Weapons yet... This worries me that even though they are very easy to get you may lack the know how on how to effectively get them...

Perhaps, people are taking 50-cent quote "Get a empyrean or die trying" into a consideration.

not everyone wants to do emps ,it's boring and repetitive, specially if you have to spam glavoid lots of time, some people preffer to have fun doing other activities than just trying to look cool or "appropiate" to others

Anyways I agree people should find a better motivation that keeping up with the Jones'

But regardless SE has publicly stated they think Abyssea was a mistake.

Leading me to think they are moving forward to try to deviate from that style of design.

As time passes less and less people will be going into Abyssea as they delve into the new content.

This has already become apparent with revised Dynamis and now Voidwatch.

The lack of competition and extra levels have motivated many casual players to go for an upgrade at this point.

Hopefully this LS cranks out a Empy for all it's would be members...
