As I’m sure most of you are curious about the various upgrade possibilities for relic equipment, I bring you a tidbit of additional information to whet your appetite! Currently the below is the direction the development team is heading in for relic equipment upgrades: Stage 1: Enhancement of base stats creating a more powerful version of the original relic piece Stage 2: Enhancements with unique properties that are different from that of other existing equipment (Example: enhancing merit point-related stats, etc.)

Unless it goes to a different +1 > +2 with the upgrades

I'm curious about that stage 2, wonder what it is exactly.

So relic is going to be designed to augment Group 2 merit JAs I guess?

Sounds pretty cool from a design standpoint since we've not had any (?) gear that ever did that before. I can imagine relic still being situational at best though.

Shame really, I miss my Valor gear. :(

I wish I could augment AF as well actually. Some pieces are still incredibly useful.

Although I guess the first stage for NQ could be to turn in the -1 and currency. I guess.

I read a few weeks back that Sagheera is gonna be putting her *** into another gear and will get the upgrades done faster, I can only hope they'll drop the amount of currency so it would actually be worth getting the +1 first, then doing ToM.

Hey, i'm excited!! I got the dozen item's I wanted to from Dynamis and GTFO! I can understand where you are coming from though. I know people who solo'ed duelist head when we used to have a double digit line for it.
I'm just hoping it won't be "kill dynamis lord while wearing your relic set x 5". Dynamis is my least favorite event and always has been. It feels like I'm playing a bad double dragon clone, where I beat up thousands of the same crap with the same bland moves. Hell, it doesn't even feel like an event.... "Hey, instead of fighting all those guys over there for just exp, kill waves of these guys over here".

/shrug. I'm more interested in seeing how good the items are. I feel like when the events were Limbus, Ground Kings, Dynamis etc, your gear was always situational. I could get a piece that I still use today (Af head, relic head for drg... etc etc etc). I feel that now each new event is "make a slightly more broken piece to completely replace the piece I just got".

A little disappointing that they didn't make a +1 trial and an NQ trial. I love my white boxes. It better be night and day difference in trial requirements because having the +1 sets was quite rare and was a nice achievement back during 75 cap. To just make everyone back on par for possibly 30 minutes of additional work will get a big frown from me.

Well but that's a complaint that should go to the neo-dynamis. Everytime I go farming currency I get tons of -1 pieces, it's really not such a big deal anymore, regardless of these new trials.

Pieces still cost 250k+ that other people did not pay. We shall see how much of a reduction in trials they will make it.

I guess they are at least making them possibly useful again. I do pretty much have like 90 pieces of garbage at the moment.

Could be. We shall see. I'll laugh if the first trial involves getting the -1 and currency in addition to items X Y and Z.

People with +1 don't require the -1 and currency.

Still, whether or not someone got them two weeks ago, or two years ago - the NQ relic armor and the +1 relic armor are still different items. Hiradennotachi +2 doesn't upgrade to Masamune.

I see new currency for upgrades being made. Which in turn could make dynamis currency slow down from the flooding it is at the moment. On the other hand more people will be flooding dynamis making it virtually impossible to farm.

I really just hope it doesn't turn out that way.

Hopefully we can upgrade our Hydra gear too.

the merit point related augments could be with the new merits whenever they come out. i would imagine stage 2 is 99 ish...

Am I the only one reading this that for Stage 2 you need to spend merits to complete your trial ?

I dont know how excited I am about this. I would imagine +3 Emp Armor will be out for 99 so how good can they make relic +2.

More likely that they boost group 2 merits

That's how I read it.

Im hoping they will add salvage armour upgrades at 99 with some lenghty but rewarding trials, would be nice if they added a few extra floors or something to each zone so we arent exiting with 40ish mins left even on a chilled run.

As for toau rings would be nice if they made it so the bonuses worked everywhere not just in salvage/assaults/nyzul or like you said augmented them but its very unlikely that its going to happen.

As for af2+1 and af2 giving the same af2+2 piece the trial hopefully should require 30 less currency if you have the af2+1 piece (or less of another new drop thats introduced) or obviously getting af2+1 beforehand will be pointless. Im personally not sure whether to stop handing af2 into npc to upgrade now before we know the full details.
