Honestly though, you can't read any of that and expect to have a good idea of what to expect from the game. Battlefield fanboys have been bashing CoD since like, BF2. It's kind of sad.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if EA was orchestrating that. And I say that as an avowed enemy of the CoD Franchise (All passed Modern Warfare1 anyway)

The sad thing is... most of these reviews don't even mention Battlefield 3 so you really can't point a random finger and scream fanboy. I'm noticing a trend of everyone calling this a MW2 expansion pack and it's kind of hilarious :X

That's exactly it. That's BF fanboys saying that just because MW3 doesn't use a completely new engine, it's the exact same game. BF3 has better graphics but the same gameplay, MW3 has more or less the same graphics (Minus some obvious improvements), but much better gameplay.

And in my opinion gameplay > graphics.

I don't understand why Battlefield 3 and MW3 are competing against each other. They're totally different experiences. The only thing they have in common is a shitty single-player.

CoD gets your Single-man Rambo fix, and Battlefield 3 for your Classic large-scale war feeling.


Personally, I think it's hilarious you think it's anything more. I'd liken it to Fallout 3 (Modern Warfare 2) Versus New Vegas (Modern Warfare 3).

I actually just finished up reading almost all reviews both good and bad, it's honestly amazing how many of these people claim to have bought the game and given details to the campaign and some multiplayer... to still post some of the things they do...

And i'll always agree with gameplay>graphics... please see Minecraft for the epidemic of examples.

Better critic scores than BF3... and loads of idiotic BF3 fanboys putting up stupid reviews. And they say CoD has the bad community!

Disagreed about the single player.

I loved CoD4's single player. As much as I loved the multiplayer, I actually enjoyed the single player more.

I loved MW2's single player even more. Wasn't better than the multiplayer this time, but definitely had the best single player of any non-RPG in recent memory.

The original COD was a WWII game that set the standard of the time for FPS. They went after MOH and kicked MOH's ***, then their only competition was BF1942 and they didn't have an apples:apples competition with that.

As far as COD8 vs BF3, the way I see it if you're going to talk gameplay is this: Did COD8 fix their terrible hitboxes, if so then the game is better than before (because BF3 has great hitboxes) and did COD8 fix their terrible spawn system in TDM/CTF/HQ, if so then the game is better than before (because BF has never really had a spawn issue in that sense)

I thought it (Modern Warfare 2) was ***personally. It had Terrible pacing, predictable set pieces, reliance on rigid scripting and unlikable characters. The only cool part was when you pull the knife out of your chest and throw it at some forgettable NPC with hilariously obtuse motives for trying to start ***.

Also, Bioshock says 'sup. Not an RPG and wipes the floor with even Hella-Awesome MW1. (Plot-Story-Characters. Bioshock has pretty lame FPS mechanics)

I'm not bashing on BF3 fanboys. They do it themselves.

I both agree and disagree. On the one hand, yes, Bioshock did have the superior plot. Obviously. On the other, the FPS mechanics were so bad it was almost unplayable. I did manage to beat the first one but only made it halfway through the second. Let's hope Infinite turns out a lot better.

Man, I didn't even give Bioshock 2 the time of day. Bioshock without Kevin Lavine is like Clerks without Kevin Smith. I don't want to insult anyone (Well, maybe a little) but to me, Bioshock2 looked like it was geared towards the people who liked Bioshock for the wrong reason. (Namely OMG U IS BIG DADDY NOW HOW COOL IS DAT??!??)

But yeah, I don't even deny the fact that Bioshock's FPS mechanics are pretty bad. I played it more like HEX, sticking with Plasmids and maybe using the Trap Bolts or Proxy mines. I tried shooting something once, it didn't got well.

Wellll when they bomb reviews in their masses because they can't stand any kind of competition...

It's in people's nature to rally for what the like. It's why people continue to play XI, believe in god(s), vote for the party line, etc - despite all of the reasons not to and despite what is often a logically thinking mind in any other circumstance people will just be stupid if they like something.

Guessing you missed the part where people came in this thread bashing MW3 first?

The advertisements alone, let alone previous installments (MW2, BO), were enough to convince me that it's a touch up on an existing premise that polishes up previous flaws and is essentially a shiny coat of paint on a rusted surface. I for one take little to no pleasure in playing a game that operates in mutiplayer on such demographs which correlate to severe obesity (Mt.Dew & Doritos), and holds mass appeal to stereotypes such as narcissistic anal retentive bros and angry pubescent XBL players. And even when choosing not to play multiplier, the campaign seems to glorify itself in the same hilarious yet tasteless manner that 1980s action films did.
They didn't know how cheesy and hilariously bad it was, but they still kept thinking it was awesome. In a way it was, but it was so so bad.

Anyways, that's just my rant. No real merit to it, just a point of view.

You accused me of hypocrisy for attacking people for bashing MW3! I then suggested it was simply defensive. I never claimed not to defend myself, just refuting being hypocritical in this respect.

I was disappointed at the marketing expansion upon food and soda more so than the food and soda itself. Especially giving passive benefits to people crazy enough to overindulge in it for +XP or whatever it is you get out of consuming ridiculous amounts of modified corn starch and syrup.

That trailer/video reminded me of deployment videos...lol.
