Do CoD fanboys have this air of superiority because they play CoD? BF3 fanboys seem to think they're god's gift. And the reason it's bad is because the game gets a negative standing with the media and less people will end up playing it.
Yes, actually they do. I run into it all the time.
As for less people playing it, who really cares? CoD has no problem moving copies. It's not as if some bad reviews are going to keep you from being able to find matches.
Absolutely. Despite being mediocre in terms of quality, the people behind the marketing and PR deserve huge praise for making the game the success it is today. There is no question over the CoD domination of the FPS genre right now, the game does not even need to be any good because it sells by its name.
The biggest complaint I hear from both sides of the argument, is that the game doesn't seem like it was worth $60. I personally haven't played it, but from what I've heard it sounds like they could have patched MW2 and added some maps and it'd be nearly the same.
Really? You thought Mw2 was a perfect multiplayer experience?? Yeah I'm done here lol
Quote:
Most would agree that it was close to the perfect multiplayer experience if only you removed most of the BS... and so ... !
I hear reading comprehension is a valuable asset in an argument.
Doesn't change the fact that MW2 had absolute ***multiplayer compared to its predecessor. And most people I know damn sure didn't quote it as being the "close to perfect" multiplayer experience. Something about about being able to jump off of a 4 story building and lunge 10 feet to knife someone killing them instantly all while coming out of the whole ordeal completely unscathed just doesn't sit well with me.
One of my first sniper games where I actually did well. After getting accustomed to actually be able to turn at a reasonable pace.
Excuse the 480p. I can't figure out how to get my Elite thing working so no HD yet D:
I enjoyed that, sure to get you some hate messages hahaha. Love it.
@1m12sec thats some bad hit detection though, paused and slow mo'd it and you were 8 inches to the left of his backpack and he still dropped like a stone lol.
Edit you actully miss LOADS of them by quite a large margin!! Is that just the fraps lagging or what?
Three word improper sentences don't really count as an a decent argument. If you want to actually elaborate more on your opinion, I will gladly listen to it, but the "It's good cause I said so" isn't really cutting it.

Let's agree for the sake of argument (even though I don't).
At the going rate of a map pack, how much would this particular map pack + loads of other content cost?

Most people hated the Commando lunge. The Pro effect is fine though, since gameplay > realism.
I got this game yesterday, and I got to say that online matchmaking feels more... faster paced? running and stuff also felt faster compared to previous CoD games...
and also tended to die twice as fast :/
Takes a good two minutes to gather a lobby...
Yeah, sounds like a hardcore connection problem on your side.
Everyone of my friends are complaining about the same thing. They are from all over the US with different ISPs and speeds. It's an Activision problem.
I'm not quite sure how much it would cost as a DLC, but from what I've heard the maps are subpar to previous games in the series, so I suppose the maps shouldn't be worth as much as the so called better maps. I honestly don't have a realistic number, so I will just estimate and say I think something like that should cost $20-$30 at most.

Activision can do no wrong in his eyes it's pointless arguing. His connection and the majority of the people he plays with have perfect connections therefor it's obviously an issue with every single one of your connections. Not on their end. Go get a better ISP.

I have the best thing money can buy in my area. I've accepted I will die, often during a night due to my 4.5mb connection, but I will not accept that I see hit marker upon hitmarker only to have Highlander eat the bullets and stab me through a wall. I never had these issues with any of the previous 4 CODs. Why am I having them now?
Anyways, I was sick last night and didn't play. I'm hoping after a day of calming down I'll see better results tonight. If I lead the first 4-5 lobbies we'll know everything is back on track.
A lot of the reasons that maps are disliked at the moment is simply because they're new. People haven't worked out all of the routes so they're getting flanked unexpectedly and such.
Even if you consider it a direct expansion map pack, at $15 per map pack for roughly 1/4 the maps in previous games, you come out ahead. It's far, far more than that too.

You can make a huge patch to change anything.
So far here is what changed
-Completely new campaign, sure it's not very long I'd say 10 hours as usual.
-Enhanced graphics
-Survival mode, not zombies
Multiplayer:
-LAN is back
-New maps
-New perks/guns
-Doubled killstreak rewards, there's about 20 different now or more
-Not sure how to call it, but there are new classes/perk like attritbutes that you can chose after leveling some weapons sufficiently high enough (Kick melee etc)
-Assault/Support/Perks classes for killstreak, support class killstreak continues even if they die.
-Support rewards that you can share with everyone in your team. (Armor jackets etc)
I could probably go on with the "new" stuff, but what's the point everyone just want a big patch, like an XI graphic update with XIV graphics for free.
If you don't think it's worth 60$ then don't buy it. I tried BF3 beta and it was so glitchy I decided to pickup MW3 instead.
I've had a few connection issues, mind you it's always like that for the first few days of a new game. The launch was WAY WAY smoother than BF3 launch.
As much as I've complained....this x10000. I've heard time and time again the BF3 beta did the real game no justice, but if you're DICE and trying to compete with COD, why the hell would you let that beta go public when you 'supposedly' already had the majority of those glitches fixed months before it launched? I was actually going to pick up both games, or even swap to BF games, but after that beta, I'll stick with complaining endlessly about my COD as I play it 4 hours every night.

Survival and Spec Ops alone would be worth $30+ in my book.

Are you sure your problem isn't that you're expecting to dominate people and if you don't, there is obviously an issue with your connection?
I was playing extremely well yesterday but am playing poorly today so far. If you expect to destroy people every time you play, you're just going to get annoyed when it doesn't happen.

it literally just launched, give it a few days. elite crashed cuz of server overload. Expect a patch soon.
It is a lot better than it was during beta, but somehow Operation Metro managed to become more glitchy. I don't know quite how that happened, but I don't ever falling through the ground at the M-COM station in the beta.

Well the physics were a bit different in the full version, so probably something unforeseen there. The movement etc is a looooot smoother in the full version.

Was playing on Xbox actually. And it's theater mode lag. I could just record directly from games but I rarely get anything I want to upload, so recording theater mode is far easier and all.
About that hit detection. Back when I played CPL in Counterstrike the AWP was my signature gun. I still have a few video clips of some of the BS shots I managed to pull off but my crosshairs were on target.
A lot of the Sniper videos of MW3 that are coming out seems like the crosshairs are never on the target yet they still get the kills. Is that just a console thing?
That last kill was boss. Theatre Mode has always been off to a point. I think it just records match movement vectors then tries to fit animation to it (since this would result in considerably smaller theatre files), which is why it looks pretty convincing except in close shots.
