* To start out I want to make it clear I do not advocate registering complaints about the website through me, though it will be referenced throughout this post. If you have a problem with the way things are run on the site please contact a moderator or admin and let them know about the problem.*
What is this about?
A while back I threw my name in the hat for a moderator position on these forums and I was told that I was considered, but that I was not needed and wouldn't be asked until things got "too crazy". Everyday I log onto these forums and ask myself, how can this NOT be too crazy.
What do you mean Lillica?
Threads that get out of control here all the time, I could easily link several examples at any given time but it would be easier to just randomly click a front page link as there is always some kind of out of control filth being bumped to oblivion there. Simple question threads go on for 4 pages of nonsense and "WAR/SAM" jokes until a mod nukes them into nothingness, the question and answer needed being lost in the fallout. Why does this happen?
"People complain if the threads are locked"
Better to allow the threads to run wild than to have people complain they couldn't get that one last gif in before the thread locked, amirite?
At least once a week I log into the game and receive complaints in /tell from people I don't even know who want to whine or complain about the way certain moderators perform their duty. "Blind" warnings, unwarranted temp bans, similar actions going unpunished by the "popular" FFXIAH members, an overall disregard for procedures and blatant bias towards certain users. These actions should not be tolerated and certainly not by the most vocal and active member of a moderator team.
Overall this place is honestly a mess, and I think the mod-team could just use that special Lillica-touch to help out and this could be one of the best forums on the internet, for anything, anywhere.
So Lillica, what can you bring to the table?
First of all I want to make one thing abundantly clear.
****** I HATE YOU ALL THE SAME******
There will be no bias, as I have no "friends" here.
Justice will be swift and powerful and clean and pure.
I have nothing better to do than to clean this place up.
The benefit of having no social life and a schedule of computer based classes is that I will be able to monitor the website and uphold the rules throughout a larger portion of the day. This will also benefit those who have made complaints to me about post deletions and temp bans that occurred during times when only one moderator was able to assist them and that moderator being the one they had the issue with.
Experience: While I do not have experience as a forum moderator I did spend a year and a half as an InfoSec manager on a US Navy ship. My duties primarily included monitoring user website access, email attachment scanning, and verifying that users were following the terms and agreements with regards to "personal" storage space on the network share. Needless to say I was good at my job, didn't make any new friends, but I was darn good at my job.
So what can we do to help you Lillica?
To be perfectly honest I don't know, but if you support me then show it! Send the big boys with the red bars some PMs, let them know that you want change and feel like Lillica is the one to do it. Hit that wonderful little [+] next to this post and leave a comment. I really just want to show that I am serious about wanting to help here and bring awareness to some of the issues that are brought to me on a regular basis and that I see happening.
TL;DR I wanna be a mod, things is messed up, show me some support. :D

I wouldn't want anyone to become a mod if they want it so bad they'd start their own recruiting thread.

I've known Lil for a while now, we had the pleasure of being in the same shell on Titan and now on Phoenix, and he's nothing if not a good guy. I don't have any standing here and I don't post all that often, but I do lurk, and I know what he is talking about.
This place is a wreck half the time, and though I don't know if his post would even be considered I think he means well, and legitimately wants to help.

I'm assuming "Enough" is copyrighted by Krizz, what's your catch phrase? I'll judge you based off that.

.....I'm 90% sure that this isn't a democracy. So getting the fourm goers to send a bunch of pms to the admins asking them to make you a mod would only ensure that they would never want you to be one.
That said good luck with your campaign in case I'm wrong.

I think this website is decent, in all fairness people will always complain, it will either be it is too soft or to strict you just can not make everyone happy.

I don't think it's worth the stress of babysitting idiots or dealing with daily QQ and legitimate harassment/concerns alike.
Frankly, I don't wish moderator responsibilities upon anyone.

You do know you can say "Krizz" right? It's not taboo.
I don't think anyone would get banned for simply stating their opinion on a mod. Or if so they should be similarly banned for stating their opinion on anyone.
Mods aren't more important than regular users, and they sure as hell shouldn't get special privileges because of it.
I highly disagree with the "Don't troll moderators" rule seeing as that should be removed or become "Don't troll anyone".
I don't know why I'm bothering to write up my opinion on this seeing as it will get deleted by Krizz anyway. Some of the problems you have touched on (certain people getting leeway whilst others don't) I highly agree with though.

No matter how this website changes people will be butthurt about it. I think that as far as there goal is (keeping the advertising people happy while allowing this place to still be an area where people can talk about stuff) they have been doing a good job.
As long as that goal is maintained this site is (in my opinion) in good (or at least ok) shape as far as moderation goes.

Exactly.
I remember when everyone avatar was changed and music was played on April fools, I also remember when everyone had different coloured bars. Now if someone makes a joke about something small, it gets labelled 'trolling' and removed. Not everything is trolling, sometimes it's a *GASP* joke.
Add to the fact that the creator of the RDM thread didn't have a problem with it being posted.
No dialogue was opened, no explanation was given just BAM thread gone. No-one was even upset about it.

Well I think part of the problem is that the difference between trolling and joking is not so easy to see. and your thread wasn't the only one who had the "____ is still sexy" title that was created in response to that thread.
.... with 2 threads copying the title its more likely that those people are trolling then that those people are joking plus once more people see it there are bound to be more threads created like that... people love to copy stuff like that. Thus i can see the admins reasoning in "nipping this in the bud" so to speak by nuking both threads.
