I'm taking a interest of this card to run some games since GT220 is really outdated and I require some proper power. But however I need a specification of how many Watts on the PSU I need w/o issues.

I'd recommend at least 100 watts above the actual requirement of the card minimum just to be safe. I'm running two GTX 570's off of a 1k watt Corsair PSU.

I'd also recommend checking Newegg for a good PSU.

As already stated I'd go at least a 100w more than the minimum required, but there's no reason to not go higher other than price. If you find a 650w and a 1000w that are nearly the same price, might as well get the 1000w. PSU's last forever (quality ones anyways) so you won't have to upgrade it again when you get your next card.

Would quality models be the Corsair brands?

Corsair makes nice PSUs.

You generally want to have a PSU running at 50% load under peak power draw as that's where they're most efficient. Getting an 80Plus Gold certed one can save you on your electricity bill.

I don't have any experience with Corsair.. I use OCZ. The one I have now is like 6-7 years old and it's running as quiet and smoothly has it did the first day I got it. It's showing no signs of wear or problems.

Corsair TX is a good quality series. But also the newer line of GS is a set of quality PSU's for gaming purposes.(Examples being TX 650 or GS 700)

ignore cardinalgate hes lost in his own world :P

corsair are good powersupplys theres also others out there (ocz for instance)

best thing to do is google em when u find one u think will be good make sure its 80+ though they save a good amount on energy and there more reliable.

560 isnt to shabby but if u plan on using it for ffxi and think ur gonna get these amazing graphics and such u got another thing coming ur way lol.

i use to have one and got alot of lagg spikes off it. compared to my old card it all comes down to the software u will have to download a older model then it comes with and try to find the one that works best to ur specs.

if ur gonna be using it for more then just FF (and i pray so) ull love it amazing card for a very good price.

at min id say go 650W+. if im correct the card requires at min 500.

Why go for the minimum? You might wanna upgrade even more later on. go for 800~1k watt. modern PSUs only use min requirement needed so you don't need to worry about unessisary energy sucking.

CPUs/RAM/Motherboard power consumption on desktop systems isn't going up. With an ever increasing numder of powersaving technologies and finer manufacturing processes it's going down. Intel's next batch of 22nm performance chips due out next year have lower TDPs projected than the 95W mainstream chips out today.

The only reason you'd need a >750W PSU is you're going to be running multiple high end ($250+) GPUs. Which is generally a waste with the consoles being old as ***and slow has limited usefulness as most AAA titles were developed for them. So unless you're also doing whatever Nvidia calls their Eyefinity multi-monitor gaming...bleh.

There's some benchmarks here with Crysis 2, Metro 2033, AvP2, etc all running at 1080p with maxxed settings pretty well on a lowly, single Geforce 560. Not sure what the OP's monitor setup is like, and there's plenty faster single GPU cards out there.

edit: Oh, and with a Core i5 750, P55 motherboard and 4GB of RAM the overclocked 560 box is pulling ~300W of juice.

My theory is to always buy over just in case you want to expand. Also I'd rather pay $20 more and be sure I have enough power in a high stress than buy borderline and risk not having enough in high stress situations.

Idk, I run a GTX480 and a 1090t at 1920x1200, both overclocked and both superior to the components listed, and I can't run at maximum settings on those games with a reasonable FPS. With DX11 features enables on Metro, it's a slideshow.

For FFXIV as well. Even includes Starcraft 2. FFXI doesn't seem to like my GT220. Everything has been done that I could possibly do for performance increase but nothing helped.

560 should have no trouble maxing out Starcraft II and getting high settings on XIV. A 650~1000W PSU would be your best bet. I'd go with 1000 or so if you can find one for a price that you're willing to go with, as that'll future proof you for many years.

I got a 560 Ti and I use this power supply:

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341016

Everything runs fine. I love the Corsair brand too.

Ah well I can't use Newegg. I live in the UK so I can't add to that. I gonna go for a 650W. My funds aren't exactly that massive.

This is just plain wrong. I have a 560 and my FPS has never dropped below 29, even next to avatars, confluxes, whatever. I'm at full resolution with the background resolution doubled. It made a huge difference for me. I'm also able to run all the new games at max settings. I think I'm gonna go buy another one tomorrow and SLI it up. I use 850W PSU.
