These directors have a tendency to draw thing out way past the point of being stupid. Sophia missing, lesbian I'm a victim Carol, *** Andrea. Maggie with her pathetic country accent especially under stress. 30 year olds playing early teens. only 2 or 3 action episodes per season the rest huh? wtf drama. I would like to see one episode per season where its nothing but action, such as a chaotic supply run involving cars in the chase scene. they are fully capable of doing, like the bandits shane put down early on. Nothing is a surprise, no lurch factor only the hope we feel affinity towards a loss of someone in a situation that the directors made up and based the whole season on. Its getting stale.. One thing is for sure black people dont last long in apocalypse.

The sooner you people understand that, the less whining the rest of us will have to endure.

Example: They try to take medic guy's alcohol and he motions to pull a gun. In no way, ever, does that fly--especially in a post-apocalyptic world where groups make their own laws. That guy is dangerous. Daryl was already a bit leery after his story of "I've been the last survivor of two camps". We should call this guy Black Shane. Once again, if you show up and within days kill my brother, I don't care about your ideals, I'm going to kill you. I might even read your autobiography afterwards, but you are going to die as soon as I have the means. Just stuff like that.. Funnily, the show is wonderfully adept at suspense and action set pieces. One of the most gripping TV segments I've ever seen was the 2nd season opener where they were walking through the car pile-up. Unfortunately, the drama had nothing to do with the characters and then they squandered that amazing opener with half a season on a farm.

So if people are still watching it, they must enjoy that. The "whining" comes from the "drama" being ridiculously contrived in such a way that it isn't even believable. Good dramas have characters or decisions that you can relate to. Situations that are crafted in a way to make the watcher understand that difficult decisions MUST be made in order to uphold stability. Mid-season finale had a lot of decisions that didn't HAVE to be made, but were made anyway without any real explanation. Should rename the thread, "The Walking LoLs"

Mid-season finale had a lot of decisions that didn't HAVE to be made, but were made anyway without any real explanation. The decisions were made over one insane man's obsession. The finale was just a tragedy; two groups had peace and security inches away from their grasp and because of the Governor's obsession it ended in death and misery for everyone. He was willing to throw everything away just for the satisfaction of revenge, well revenge in his mind. The people that fought with the Governor, you can assume that was not the first time they butchered other groups of people while under Martinez's leadership. That Pete guy that was one of Martinez's lieutenants seemed to be the moral Rick of the group. The only two appalled by the Governor's actions at the end were the two women that traveled with the governor and believed he was a good man. And when considering decisions made by everyone in these episodes you cannot compare their mindset and rationale to yours in this place and time. Almost everyone has completely lost their humanity and compassion. Their only instincts are survival. Characters like Rick and Herschell are there to try to keep that moral compass that most have lost. Ok, finally got to watch the episode - not having satellite/cable sucks!

Anywho: If your idea is right about the governor I'll be the joining the "dumbest show ever" group. This can't be like Nightmare on Elm Street. I think she wanted him to come back as a zombie and other chick screwed that plan.
In the spirit of "drama" maybe Michonne wanted the Governor to come back as a zombie so they could finally bump nasties. That way the directors could promote a safe sex message. That would take up about one season for then to explain in the show.
I agree the prison stalemate was pretty stupid, what ever happened to the classic default mono e mono? A fight between Rick & the Gov. winner takes everyone. Would of been a fantastic way for Rick to be a 1 armed gimp.

I'm not so sure people watching television would react the same way as those who've read the comics Phoenix.Amandarius said: » Ragnarok.Beef said: » Fairy.Spence said: » The Walking Dead is a drama with zombies. How is starting a war in unknown territory, against unknown enemies, with an unknown guy leading you into this war a survival instinct? That sounds like a deathga instinct to me. As Hershel said
Nah, really, as Hershel said However, finding another prison/hospital/psych ward makes sense. Even a lot of county jails are as secure against zombies as that. Its just more believable in the comic because of the extent that Michonne went when she tortured him and all the events that occurred...and the fact that the Woodbury group was so brainwashed and scared of The Governor. Its definitely a disappointing thing when you have so much potential just to write it off in a cliche zombie movie "2 minutes and suddenly we trust you" moment. Because that's what it comes down to. You either get the prison, or you die trying. all or nothing, I'd want the odds stacked on my side a little more than they had. They had a tank. Thats pretty stacked. If they used it properly it would have been a pretty short fight. And the way they "disabled" the tank was *** anyways, I guess they just had to make something up to get them out of the tank so the "good guys" could win.
