Why on earth would these people be that eager to start a war at the behest of the Governor, whom they BARELY know?! Why would they then destroy the prison if their whole point for starting said war was to take it for themselves? That whole thing just make no sense. I think they'd be more apt to take Rick up on his offer to live together, possibly sans Governor if he'd be a problem.
Hopefully now that the Governor/Prison arc is done for good they can get back to the People vs. Zombies theme of the show and can reel us back in. I sure do miss season 1 :(
This was what I was thinking while watching it. What even made less sense was that they STILL fought even after watching the Governor BEHEAD A DUDE WITH A SAMURAI SWORD. wtf?

While I agree with the wtf regarding the Governors group going along with his plan. There was also a fight or flight reaction that did occur once shots were fired.
So in some respects it did make sense, since they didn't really have enough time to say wtf, due to the prison group opening fire as soon as the Governor thwacked him.

Sure, but somebody could've easily just shot the Governor in the back and put their guns down.

I'm glad the governor's dead. This entire conflict was very sloppily concluded in this season. I mean really now, someone used an empty filing cabinet as a shield the other night, as well as a decomposing zombie, pretty ridiculous.
Also why didn't the governor just shoot the bus rick hid behind with the tank, and where the hell are they finding shells for this 40 year old tank?

rational thought is unfortunately one of the first things most people lose in fight or flight situations, so in that aspect, they probably would fight on with the governor, imo, anyway.

it's been fairly established since this show started that their weapons consultant either A.) knows little about weapons or B.) is getting super lazy in his old age / drug binge.

I don't know, these people aren't just regular people, they've seen and lived through some serious ***. I'd think somebody would've been able to pull it together and put up a white flag or laid down a gun and put their hands up in the air.
I guess I just had a problem with the episode on a whole. Even the Governor's ultimatum seemed moronic. "Leave the jail, because we want to live there or we'll ...................blow it up?"
Then he attracts zombies with the gunshots and pretends like the zombies will soon congregate there and break down the fences, but uhh, you're on the side with the zombies smart guy. If the zombies come it's actually much more detrimental to his people because then they'd be stuck between a zombie horde and Rick's people who are behind fences and most likely dug-in in the prison.
His master plan was the dumbest ***I ever seen so far in the show, also like Nausi said I didn't know tables and rotting zombies are bulletproof.

Well, it's a fictional TV show involving rotting carcasses that come back to life due to some virus and eat people. It likely becomes a lot less entertaining when you're questioning everything and applying real world logic. I just enjoy this show for what it is.

I actually kind of like it when the show gets cheesy, like the filing cabinet being able to stop assault rifles, or them rolling up with a tank that for some reason has lots of ammo, or that gas from 3-4 years ago still is usable, or how everyone still has mowed lawns... WHO MOWS THE LAWNS!?
But there are many reasons I'm getting bored....
The zombies need to be able to run at a FULL SPRINT, if they did then the show wouldn't be boring anymore. The zombies taking a back seat in the show and things like the flu and other people being the bigger threat, has turned this into what feels like filler episodes that don't contribute to the show. I understand that survival includes those as threats, but they spent far to many episodes focusing on these (they could have atleast added more zombie action into the mix while focusing on boring stuff like the flu and that idiot governor)

(The same person that cuts Carol's hair)
Also, her grey hair throws me off so bad. I could never tell how old she was.
Seriously though, there's also the question of how long before these things finally run out of energy and "die" or decompose to a point of uselessness.
Zombies in swat/riot gear was one of my favorite elements.

The speed of the zombies was decided before season 1 aired, they didn't want them to be any faster than the zombie in the cemetery in George A. Romeros Night of the Living Dead, the orignal

The show has become completely inconsistent as it relates to the zombies.
Sure you can argue that the show is what it is and for that you can totally justify watching it (I guess), but as many have already said, the sheer slowness and focusing on the smallest of issues is what makes this show total crap. The plague episodes was unbearable.
The governor story should have ended back in woodbury and it circled completely back with a whole new camp that he again, lied to and they met their demise. I'm thankful that at a minimum 1) governor is dead and 2) no more prison. They need to go back to embarking on "what is out there" and stop settling down on ridiculous filler side-stories.
The show is now background noise while I do things around the house. And the Talking Dead? Really? what a joke

So you wouldn't be a little irritated if Jesus appeared in the next episode riding a blue unicorn shooting lazer beams out of it's *** that kills all the zombies?
I mean, hey, it's a fictional TV show about zombies, it's already unrealistic right?
Except that's wrong. It's a fictional TV show about zombies that appear in a real worldesque scenario. The only part that is taken as ridiculous is the zombies, the human characters in the show are SUPPOSED to be realistic human beings.

Well you know if one were like a fanatical catholic, that whole Jesus scenario may not be so upsetting since you know they kind of actually do believe some ***like that would happen in real life.

And there you have it. You would've told him to stfu and dig another trench. But apparently nobody in his group of mutts had the backbone to be like wtf is going on?? Why are we listening to this new guy who all the sudden is trying to be the leader.
There is no "mob mentality" if nobody was really down with the plan except the Governor. It's like they just went with him because, "well we got nothin better to do".
We already saw the lines of BS he was feeding them. That Rick's group killed his daughter, they burned his camp blah blah blah. The best part was how the Governor kept reiterating that he doesn't want to kill anyone, and rather take the prison without taking a life, and then within the 1st 10 minutes of showing up at the prison he cuts an old man's head off in front of his family.
There was just so much wrong with what was going on, the only way I could believe what was happening was that if they had just replaced the Governor's group with zombies or some kind of herd animal like cows or something.

It could just be that the writers were painting the picture that the Governor is a psycho-pathological-liar. They tend to be rather charming and convincing. Good job on connecting the dots that the writers put out.

Yeah I don't get what people want from this show. If they loved it at the beginning but don't love it now what changed? Nothing. The show just shows us how much life sucks after this outbreak and the horrible stuff that everyone has to deal with just to survive. I think it's great and I think this has been its best season. Every episode can't just be people fighting zombies the entire show.
To those complaining, what would make the show better to you?

The Governor dying in Woodbury storyline would've made the show better for me. It's not like I totally hate the show, I'm not complaining either, it's just a show I watch while I'm cooking dinner.
I'm just expressing my thoughts on the last half of the mid season. The other stuff with the virus outbreak in the prison didn't bother me at all. But if you don't think the show changed, I don't know what to say.
The show changed a lot, it's more about human morality and human problems with other humans than it is about finding out wtf happened to make zombies.

You get alot more of the "Human Problem" AFTER the prison. the prison is all about the peace of mind of being protected by the prison but then the worry that the walkers are gunna get in: then add Woodbury.

Except he didn't seem that convincing or charming. I mean, even the chick he was banging was like "really? do we gotta?". It would've been cool if he had done something conniving like he did when he was in Woodbury. But the way he did it, it was too easy for people to question his intentions. Except nobody did.
He should've killed the little girl, and blamed Rick's group for it or something. Something that would ignite that fire under his group. Even when they were standing there at the prison, the people just looked very unsure of wtf they were doing, but I guess his pathological liar magic just forced them to keep doing things that seemed uncomfortable for them to do.

A lot actually, and I'm very surprised to believe you think nothing has changed.
I won't go into too much detail that we all already know by now and I've mentioned this in previous replies, but to compare what it was in the beginning to now; in the beginning there was a lot of traveling, a lot of 'seeking answers', a lot of new environments and new people they all encountered. Yes, its risky but there was always value to it. (plus that's what makes a post-apocalyptic story good) For christ sakes, they even went to CDC to find out answers!!
Fast forward to today, they settled down in a Prison, fought with a camp (twice) and a lot of non-sense inner group squabbles. Its as if the show settled down. Thus why I'm happy they'll move out of the Prison and hopefully go back to what the show was about from the start.

Show wasnt the same after AMC forced Frank Darabont out. He should have fought them to stay, but he didn't have the same ground to stand on that Matt Weiner did when he fought them.
who else is looking forward to this? i loved the first season and the new season starts sun.!!!! cant wait!
