Buff and HP>MP set:

Cure Potency set:

I'd much rather have that or tefnut's wand instead of bother with a Surya staff. I am completely lazy towards doing trails to the point that I'm moving like a snail to finish my str and agi kila +2.... well +3 now.

You can get a Tefnut Wand or a Templar Mace with an augmented Genbu's Shield and still come out better than a Light Staff. Heck I wouldn't even make fun of you for it, so hop to it.

Omg so mean D:

DDs can still be good even without Emps/Relics/Mythic. Mine is! Or at least that's what mommy says when she kisses me good night ;_;

My standards are high, possibly unreasonably so. You can still have a good DD/be a good DD without an Emp/Relic/Mythic, but it's not something I encourage in 2011. If you're serious about your job/XI, you should have one or be working towards one(which apparently you are).

It drops a bit >_> lol

but usually I try cover all necessary buffs before swapping to the potency set and toss out a few non-maxed cures that would've otherwise turned into wasted MP potential.

I use to have an mp set at 75. Would have it on keeping the MP gear on but removing the important pieces bringing in cure potency as my mp lowers that way I could have an additional 600 or so mp.

Wasn't needed at all lol, and eventually dropped it. It was still fun to write my spellcast to do it right. Was a few hundred lines of code just for that part, on every spell >.>;;

That actually bring me to a point: If you don't use macros, you deserve to be called gimp. Not sure if anyone has touched on that bit of it(in this thread >.>), blanked out all of this whm talk, but I rage when people say they don't need to change gear to be good. Yeah, okay.

Is it even possible to play the game without using macros?

Edit: Xbox 360 player here, can't use spellcasts. Even so much to the point... I don't know what spellcasts are but lol yeah. Already addressed that.

Yes. A guy in my LS never used macros. Or gear swaps. The running joke was that he had no idea how to write one, and was too old to try to learn.

I didn't say that. It just reminded me of how people say they don't use macros. I didn't use spellcast myself, just windower macros.

I'm sure this has been said already but playing on xbox / ps2 is rather gimp imo.

Yep, being on PS2 or XBox definitely gimps the game a lot.
Can't make sets that swap gear at the beginning-mid-ending of a cast but oh well.

What bugs me the most is the fact that gear swaps on XBox aren't 100% reliable. Sometimes I might lag out and find myself WSing in an abortion between TP and WS sets.. not nice, not nice, gimp.

windower macros make this game much better, in the very least /comfort for not having that. I would hate to have to push 4 or 5 macros everytime a monster decided to get me naked
"legs/feet"
"midwaist"
"head"
"other"
"bling"
k we set
Actually, it's 3 macros. I have a equipment reset macro set for DNC for dealing with that. D:

1 Macro to cover head/neck/ear1/ear2/body/hands
1 macro to cover /ring1/ring2/back/waist/legs/feet

Sure you can >_> Do I recommend it? Hell no, but you can. My BLM macros were awful back before I swapped to Windower macros.

If you have access to playing the game on a computer, I would switch immediately honestly. Having a mac isn't a viable excuse, Nightfyre manages just fine. Well, sorta fine. ;3

I'm not going to berate people for playing on inferior systems using crazy 3 button press macros to do everything, but I will say it's much more efficient/practical to play on PC and use windower macros/spellcast XMLs.

Back when I had surgery, I was bedridden for a few weeks, so I played XI on my Xbox. It was the most miserable experience of my life, and after I tried doing a meripo on DNC, I refused to go to any more merit parties or events because it wasn't possible to solo-heal every *** one without deaths. :x
