Nice. While I never had much trouble catching Lik at 88 (besides the breaks) When should I start on Gugs? 94+?
I would start on them asap, they are great for skilling up.
Can get them to 30-40% with 89 skill(with rings), looks like I need to tack on a few levels.

That reminds me on matsya, do you need mooching to use the live bait to fish them up?
i believe so need mooching in order to use those baits if not mistaken

no
mooching increases the time you have to reel fish in with drill calamary/dwarf pugils, don't need it just to use them, though.

Is it worth targeting Matsya?
Working on getting a second skillup ring for dameion since people have mentioned two help.
The fish is Takitario atm on siren, heaviest.
617 Pz is my best so far, wiki says up to 647 though. :(
Might make top 25 but takitaro is easy to catch. I'll fish them tomorrow some more and see if I can do a lil better.

It is a personal goal/achievement if you will. Think of it as a rite of passage for obtaining ebisu. It is the "ultimate" fish requiring absolute dedication to prepare and to reel in (very difficult fish). On top of that other lil fish can bite your bait and destroy your progress, and of course matsya can snap your line.
I always encourage anyone that I know who just received ebisu to try it, it really is a cool thing to get. It's not for money making though, you'll see people with it in bazaars occasioanlly though as a trophy.

Have to get lucky though, fished up 100 donkos last time it was them and placed 32nd on the heaviest one I got. Not worth fishing up that many though.

Pretty much what Kal said. A friend of mine was once like "OMG look up Matsya npc's for 25k etc" Really not anywhere near being a profit fish.
Fished up about ~50 cave cherax in an hour or so, that yielded about 12 dwarf pugils on average from that amount of cherax, and took me like 50 broken/lost lines of bait before catching one Matsya lol.

Try scouting peoples' bazaar near the selbina guild or preferred fishing spot maybe? Got my ring from a fish in someones bazaar for 15k lol.

Already caught 30 today. Just going to do a few a day and see what I get haha.
