Thread locking and deleting epidemic
No Zahrah, I never meant that at all.
My RL is irrelevant to this discussion. Let's get away from that since it's not helping anything.

Kind of my sentiments too. What the hell do you know about having a child too, Seha? I may be wrong, but I think two of the three mods have children, and that is a priority that you could not understand. Pretty big commitment if you ask me, and I think they do an excellent job balancing their commitments. (I'm not the only one who understands why they would prioritize some commitments over others.) The mods are not selfish in handling the forums the way they do. I would rather know that they have outside interests, lives, and real world experience. It makes it that much better knowing that their lives don't revolve around a computer screen. Uri and I both hold Krizz in high regard (along with a handful of others), and are may be more sympathetic to his life outside of this carnival called FFXIAH. He's doing this to the best of his abilities, and I doubt many could do a better job of moderation. Obviously you missed Uri's point entirely. To be honest and fair with you, Urial's posts were somewhat harsh and inflammatory as opposed to reasonably pointing something out. Sorry. :( /retracts claws Ramuh.Krizz said: » Ragnarok.Anye said: » Asura.Alymorel said: » @both Liela and Seha I know mods have personal lives and real life responsibilities should always be put first in my opinion. That still doesn't excuse them from being lazy with the responsibility they took on here. Yes, what if they do see a thread where a little tough love is needed? Give it a little tough love or get another mod to look at it while his/her hands are full. Everyone has a way of contacting each other on here, mods/admins included. Why can't Krizz send Anye a PM when he has to deal with his daughter and work? Why can't Anye send one to Alyria when she's in the middle of classes? Etc, etc. I see these premature nukes as being lazy and half-assing the responsibility. But what if Sav gets all jealous that Krizz has my texting number? D: Anyway, I have posted on our admin/mod section if I see something that needs to be handled, but I don't have the time to at the moment. There were multiple reports in that thread. I checked the page the reports were on, and the last two pages of the thread. It looked to be mostly off topic and the same users going back and forth. I locked it. If the OP or someone had sent me a PM, I would've reviewed the thread more thoroughly, cleaned it up, and unlocked it. From what I saw, it wasn't worth it at the time. There are a lot of people who complain on the forum, but never try to handle things via PM first. Those that PM me usually end up with a satisfactory answer (whether it's accepting the reason for the action, or I agree to untopicban/unlock/etc.). again i think the option of having a button to hit that auto deletes all post and qoates and topic ban a specific person instead of having lock thread or delete every post individually would be really helpfull. So anyway, seeing as the mods are present atm and that we have 5 pages to go on, what do YOU the moderators think should be done with regards to the issues raised here?

To be honest and fair with you, Urial's posts were somewhat harsh and inflammatory as opposed to reasonably pointing something out. My harsh approach never changes. But apparently it must or I get topic banned. Any who I more or less as Zarah said meant it's simply about priorities and and typically before people move out of their parents they have little to prioritize. And I do understand Proth that yes there are some kids who bust their butt at a young age, but honestly most kids don't. And it's becoming more and more common with the modern generations to be extremely lazy. Ramuh.Krizz said: » With Scragg's latest addition of that handy pid when you quote someone, it's a realistic suggestion to have a "delete all posts and quoted posts by this user in this thread" button. I'm just not sure how much of a difference it would make, or if it would be worth the work for Scragg. Assuming he has the time and will to implement something like that, it shouldn't be too hard. Whether or not he feels it's worth his time and energy is a completely different story. It would be nice if he did do this though. Ramuh.Sagittario said: » So anyway, seeing as the mods are present atm and that we have 5 pages to go on, what do YOU the moderators think should be done with regards to the issues raised here? 1) We need to have more internal discussions about topicbans, and when enough is enough. 2) People need to start PMing mods when they have an issue with action taken instead of creating threads. 3) People need to realize that they are agreeing to the rules when they post. There's a group of us that can sympathize. It's not like we haven't worked while we were students. It's very admirable! But just being a student and living with your parents does not give much wiggle room when you're talking about commitments. Just saying... If I told you repeatedly that my point wasn't that, would you please stop insisting as if you're teaching me some grand truth of life that I'm too blind to see?

I'm not even talking to you, Seha! SO because you're a student you're leeching off of your parents? What if you're a student and you live on your own, paying your own bills and working for yourself?
Edit: Furthermore, your definition of "commitment" is incredibly limited, and incorrect. Assuming that someone doesn't have plenty of commitments and things in their lives that they need to fulfill and take care of on a daily basis just because they're a student is ludicrous. I do not appreciate your condescending demeanor. Honestly I don't check in as much as I used to, but there seems to be a similar thread of this sort every week or so. So there it is, straight from the horses mouth, a good starting point in my opinion :) Shiva.Viciousss said: » Ramuh.Krizz said: » 1) We need to have more internal discussions about topicbans, and when enough is enough. 2) People need to start PMing mods when they have an issue with action taken instead of creating threads. 3) People need to realize that they are agreeing to the rules when they post. surprised you responded, those types of public questions usually serve as a rallying cry for all of your detractors. ~.~ #3. #3 just makes me think of this
Speaking of pm'ing mods: is there a function(or is it possible to implement)to see if someone is online or not? Sometimes I simply don't know who is the right person to pm at a due time and just have to wait for one of them to post before doing so.
