Hey guys, I realize this problem is not EXACTLY a test server problem, but seeing as how it cropped up because I want to sign up for test server, I'm hoping one or all of you can help me with it...

I had to do the whole "register" for the official forums thing. I registered and all of that jazz but now it won;t let me choose my "main character" and says I cannot access the forums until I have done it...I click the character I want (and have eve tried every other character on the list) and click "save changes" and...nothing happens...the character never gets saved as the main :(

Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can actually GET to the test server application???

Thanks in advance for any help <3

Click the Star on your character's portrait. >____>\

If it's not that, I would say so many people are applying now that it's glitching.

Lol it's not directly obvious that you have to do that, so easy mistake to make.

I only know about it because I'm reading everyone else's posts in order to prepare for when I can try the test server. >___>

Test server and regular server are not connected. You don't get to keep anything from the test server.

right now I'm super sad that my husband and I are on the same SE account :(

pretty sure I'm not going to get to try the test server because my husband is going to want to...emailing him now to find out for sure so I guess we'll see.

Yea I seem to have a problem....anytime I log into Play online and click on "Play Test Server" it'll act like it'll go to FFXI,screen goes black...then crashes.

As far what I did with the downloads I did the following:
1. Made a Folder called "FFXI Test Server"
2. Extracted A11203W_001.zip into that folder
3. Clicked set up (it did it's thing set up where the folder would actually be,etc) Playonline/SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI Test Server.
4. Extracted FFXITC-TC3 in "FFXI Test Server" on deskstop whixh made a ffxi folder within my Desktop folder's Test Server Folder
5. Copied the new ffxi folder in to directory of the actually test client folder.

Yep.....still crashes.....
Normally I can fix computer issues but this one troubles me.....

Just copy the contents of the folder and not the folder itself.

This might take while since vista apparantly is slow with copying stuff...that or just the file is so huge

Is there any reason why, even through a download manager, it's saying my download will be done in 11-12 hours?
Everybody else is downloading it too?

I was one of the first ones to start dling it and it started with 11hrs like 5ms after they released it. Ls member dl'd about 30m after I started and finished within 20m

If you're downloading all of them at once, try doing it one at a time.

Tried everything, didn't work. Each DL had 4hrs each which is basically the same amount of time for all of them at once. I already finished, just saying I had the same experiences.

I moved files after I did the update, I'm guessing that is the cause so I reinstalled and am updating now

Obvious answer is obvious. Learn Japanese!

Seriously though,

According to person on Guildwork:

If your moogles are talking JP, you need to reinstall the test client. Make sure you read the readme.txt, download and unzip all files before even trying to update/play.

I've done it 3 times now lol ._.
