I just had a dream that FFXI had voice acting.
This is what happens... "You must recover all the energy immediately W... Megaman." my brain would probably melt at the amount of talking in port jeuno if that was real :(
It does in my head. I can't figure out where Morgan Freeman fits into the story though. I can't make him the voice of all the characters. Or can I? O_o
Surely he'd be the narrator? Or perhaps just the most god damn awesome character...
...but I don't think his voice would work for Prishe. Morgan Freeman would be the voice of Raogrimm/Shadow Lord.
Edit... Prishe would be great voiced by Bjork. Carbuncle.Shayala said: » Morgan Freeman would be the voice of Raogrimm/Shadow Lord. Edit... Prishe would be great voiced by Bjork. Nah, James Earl Jones for Raogrimm/Shadow Lord in my opinion. Bit cliché, but I really don't think there's any one guy who has that kind of commanding presence in his voice in a villainous role. While Freeman's voice is great for narration purposes, it doesn't really have the menacing pitch that I think would suit the Shadow Lord. lol would be cool is 11 had voice acting but SE could do it but problem is PS2 limitations if they added voice acting i would make a new charecter to redo the story line lol kinda reminds me of a video

Or can I? O_o As it stands I've button mashed just about every CS over the years, watching the visuals and barely scanning the text. If they had voice acting I'd go back and hit every Goblin Footprint and what have you. Only other game I've played was City of Heroes/Villains years ago, do any MMO have voice acting? O_o The only cutscene worth skipping was Abyssea and that's b/c you had to go quick to go fight Shinryu when everyone's waiting. But then you miss the key plot point that Shinryu has a moon base. Guild Wars 2 is supposed to have some voice acting, but I'm not positive how much or where it will be implemented. I know its not an MMO but Mass Effect 1,2 and soon 3 has been a huge hit on consoles because of how extensive they went with the voice acting, and it is considered an RPG. The new Star Wars MMO is supposed to have some too. oh and Diablo 2 has Voice Acting, cant remember if the original did. For sure the third one will. I have wanted to know what Lion sounds like for years now.

For those that may not have ever seen it, besides what Dissidia's given us, the special FFXI cards for Lords of Vermilion 2 gives us an idea of what the Japanese voices for some of the characters (Eald'narche, Kam'lanaut, Ark Angel EV, and Shadow Lord) would sound like.
