Curiosity Killed The Cat

Ok, so my uncle has this cat. I don't interact w/ it much. I put food/water in its bowl when my uncle isn't home to do so.

My uncle's dog was at his dad's house for the past 9 months, came back a week ago and doesn't mess w/ the cat at all, but just sits in the living room all day.

The cat had kittens about 3.5-4 weeks ago

I go to California for 2 weeks (a week prior to dog return if that has anything to do with it) and come home yesterday.

Now this cat won't leave me alone. I thought it just wanted food/water so I checked but it already had some. The kittens have been moved upstairs 3 rooms + a bathroom that aren't my room up here so there' somewhere around there.

Now the mom cat camps outside my bedroom door scratching the door and runs in every time I open the thing (easy to get her out though because I just walk out and she follows me out) and follows me around the house wherever i go, keeps walking in front of my feet, trips me every time. Can't even get to the microwave w/o it jumping on the counter and blocking my path.

wtf is wrong with this cat? Do I need to take her up to the Chinese restaurant?

Cats tend to do that when they like you. I have 5 cats that follow me around lol.

I have 0 problem with the cat, but I in no way shape or form want her or her 2 kittens in my room at all.

Not an indoors only cat, so more often than not she's filthy, she likes to play w/ my wires/cords and I don't want any of them damaged. The kittens are still shitting all over the place and I think she's trying to move them into my room.

This is this cat's been here well over half a year and this is just starting now and I've had the least interaction with it of anyone here.

Sounds...exactly like my cat. Always wants to get into my room and play with my wires. Follows me out when I leave.

It didn't realize how much it loved you til you were gone for 2 weeks.. After you left, it realized you weren't around and that it missed you, so it waited and waited for your return, now it wants to make sure you never leave it again so she's smothering you in affection..

That's my guess anyways. Animals aren't incapable of emotions.

Cats have a limbic system in their brains, therefore they are probably capable of emotion, although it's unlikely that they ponder, analyze, or dwell on emotions they way humans do.

(Some) cats definitely form bonds with their owners. It *could* be just as simple as a "I need food to live, and I recognize you as the food giver" bond, but I suspect it's at least a bit more complex.

I don't know how fast cats can go into heat after giving birth, but that definitely is what it sounds like.

Your uncle should get her spayed anyway, especially if she's going outside.

cats sometimes can sense when somethign wrong with a person wether a physical or emotinal issue and will start behaving that way to try comfort or warn.

Not the issue here. Cat was like this from the second I walked in the door yesterday lol

My cat always follows me around/sleeps with me/drools on me/sleeps on me etc. It's pretty normal cat behaviour if they like you.

He was prolly like this...
