Edit: only good thing about it is 5 weeks of paid vacation every year, but then again thats the minimuim in sweden. Some people got 8-10 weeks of paid vacation per yer. So yeah, I hate my job :|

Sounds like you have a fun boss Zefyr.. And Jaerik, don't feel bad, thats actually pretty awesome that you recognized that from personal experience. I do wish I worked in the video game industry at times.

Well...I'm a housewife and mother...I'm disabled so...working doesn't happen for me..i HAVE had jobs before but being a housewife and mother is by far the best job I've ever had...sure I don't make any money doing it and sure, we're a bit on the poor-ish side but it's worth it to always be able to be there when the kids need help with their homework, or help studying for a test or when some stupid punk says "I hope you die!" or some stupid girl says "eww, you're so not my type!"
My kids and my husband are my entire world...I was a mess before they came along and now I'm whole.

Worked in the table games industry since 97' Foxwoods Casino in Ct. for years then I went to the Venetian in Vegas when it expanded, and built the Palazzo. Supervised Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, and Black Jack. Took a couple years off to come back east, and liquidate some property. Was a pain in the @$$ to manage from the other side of the country. Headed back to Vegas at the end of the summer, and looking forward to it.

Yea I'm pretty much doing the same as you and it's pretty great but i'm currently training to be an assistant manager so the sales people "below" me hate me, and the managers are alays crazy lol
I'm a pipe organ technician.
I get to work alone and on my own schedule, I get to play amazing and powerful instruments all the time, the people that hire me usually know absolutley nothing about what they're hiring me to do so I don't have to deal with complaining, and usually I'm the only person who knows how to do what I'm doing.
I'm a full-time student still but this is what I do to earn the larger part of my money and I love it.
I get to work alone and on my own schedule, I get to play amazing and powerful instruments all the time, the people that hire me usually know absolutley nothing about what they're hiring me to do so I don't have to deal with complaining, and usually I'm the only person who knows how to do what I'm doing.
I'm a full-time student still but this is what I do to earn the larger part of my money and I love it.
I love helping animals and people. Having said that it does come with some major stress, but my TRUE friends and family consider that and support me 100% and it makes the differences more times then not. I couldn't see myself doing anything else. I can say without any hesitation I will protect animals my whole life.

I'm guessing you get a lot of business from churches? What are you studying?

I work 7.5 hours a day. Some times take naps at work and get paid 8h. working for 3 years at the same place. I make $36/hour.

I am payed to play Street Fighter all day long. You could say I am quite happy with it.
I enjoyed the hell out of my job as a car painter, now the places I worked... ya they sucked. Wanting me to work late to finish up a car for delivery then the car sits for a week. No thanks.
Not to mention when you have that speck of fly turd in the paint you can only see with the moon in a 2 o'clock position if u twist your head @ a 45 degree angle and face the car at a 32.8 degree angle. yes I had a customer that did something similar to that.

Right now I do portal engineering. SharePoint websites and the servers behind them. I'm in charge of all our virtual development servers right now. It makes the days go by quicker, and is actually challenging.
I'm working a decent amount of overtime (voluntarily).
Edit: And my bosses are cool. I mean, they let me not only cut my hair into a mohawk, but were ok with me dying it blue.
Edit2: I have no college, and my only certificate is Security +. Once I get an OS cert, I'll have additional duties on our production servers as well.

I would say you work EMS or for the Fire Dept, but I don't know of many places that do 8 hour shifts.
Same story, but I get 5 days off every week (24/48s FTW)
Not much to say really, are in the security branch now almost 16 years, and not one day has passing by where I don't like what I do everyday. Started working as age 16 restaurants, men's clothing shop, shoe store, cab driver etc.. and now almost 40 and still perfect.
Dream however is to build my own security company, but tam with less good times I have to put it on hold.

The work is very interesting and stuff changes every single day.
From working with agents on the floor and senior management to assisting law enforcement and government investigations (AML/ Terrorist Financing)
The pay is very good and the people I work with are just as good (especially since my bro is my boss xD)

I work for the Disney store x: I don't think there is anything better than being able to feel like a child all day long and have fun with everyone that comes in. There is some nights where you have to stay late to change the store around but it's only to put out new cooler stuff :3
