I know there are some threads out there that suggest atma, but they are very vague from what i am finding, if any SAM could guide me in the right direction, id like to know what are the three optimal atma to use, currently i just use RR VV and Apoc....should i be substituting RR out for Harvester or SB perhaps? And i will be trying to get Fudo eventually, do my atmas change when i acquire this WS. Thx in advance for ure help.

it depends if you are going for DoT dmg / crits as well as ws. what you use is certainly not a bad setup.

when im on sam i generally use a ws dmg atma setup something like

VV/Harvester/SB

but it all depends on what you are doing. masamune ODD crits are no joke (1k+) so it just depends what you like to do better.

(as sam is not currently the best in anything inside abyssea, just play how you would like to, since if you are coming sam you are more than likely just an extra anyways.)

Typically, when I go SAM for abyssea, I pull basically same atmas as you stated: RR/VV/Apoc

The combo seems good for DoT and obviously crit dmg is very nice to see. Since I got a Masa, I played around with a few different combo's to see which would maximize dmg for ws's. So far best I've seen with combo's I've used: SA/VV/RR.

I've also tried AaO/Apoc/RR just for the 25% triple attack and attack increase which TP is obviously gained quite fast. Sadly since Masa has become my GKT I've never given any thought of using any other WS, so can't really comment on anything for other WS's...

My god seriously.. I have to agree, Ironguy plz... EVERY damn Sam thread you mention war. Not everybody likes warrior, and people do like sam, so they ask about the job they like. This also coming from an Amano sam.... Seriously man, just plz stop

i find it very, very hard to understand how anyone could ever possibly like samurai, but not warrior

one swings a katana that does mediocre damage, while the other swings a hammer that (amusingly enough,) sports a delay nearly identical to that of the weapon that made samurai clearly the best melee job back before abyssea

i get it, it's your $12.95, but honestly, do yourself (and others) a favor and swap the .dats on widowmaker/ukonvasara and raging rush/ukko's fury to hagun/amanomurakumo and gekko/kaiten respectively

i will be sincerely surprised if you truly end up noticing a difference between the two visually and playstyle-wise

meanwhile your white damage and tp accumulation rate take giant hits each by not using razed ruins and apocalypse

it's worth it though, of course

a bandwagon in ffxi, defined, is someone who jumps on a job immediately after seeing its' potential in one set scenario (see: not all), gears it incorrectly and then assumes it's almighty, always, regardless

primary example, bandwagon samurai back before abyssea were visible, plain as day by using /nin 24.7, tp'ing in askar korazin and last but not least, not knowing of and/or how to use a polearm

judging upon some quick evidence, i'm positive you fit into the category described above quite nicely

I'm sorry but I picked Sam long before I began playing this game. Has always been my favorite job in FF and I knew this would be my first job when my friends and I began playing it.
