A credit for what? thier ignorance in the matter? Big enough problem getting them to admit there is actually an issue to start with. As long as they dont charge for a full month and get it sorted before mog bonanza.. all good.

They did post they were giving people their money back that payed for 2 months.
What I don't like is they not even making any announcments about the problem on the website and now I see they posted a update instead of fixing this, but if they wanna lose more paying custormers - fine by me.

maybe this is their brilant idea to get people to actually play 14, by making 11 so glitchy noone will/can actually play it...

I am playing 14 atm, because its free. I was really hoping it was upgraded graphics of FFXI and that was it and its far from it. Not digging it yet.

Nothing on this earth could make me play 14.........
I went through hassle of 3 accounts with cancelled IDs. Just re-entered billing info and it was good to go. Waiting on bonanza so I can be first person to win all 5 ranks!!! (110 marbles purchased, so /crosses fingers - And yes, i ordered 00-99 plus the other 10 randomed)

i thought they were still fixing the billing issues. how'd you guys get past through the errors? i don't understand why i can't reactivate my content ID. if i re-enter my card again, i may get the same error so that's why i'm waiting to see what's gonna happen.

Lol the day I decide to get back into ffxi , there is a billing issue.
Also emailed em on sunday ( last night ) Got reply today , we are deeply sorry, please contact us via phone or chat to solve ur issues. I called just now.
And yeah, customer support dude said this
"Its a known issue, we are working on it, we are very sorry. We will contact you when its solved."
I then ask if he can just give me 1 month free playtime, so I can get ingame. But apperently the customer support aint got the possiblities to do this on his "database" lol... Talk about service ;)
Well I havent played ffxi in a year , so whats the problem waiting a few more days ? I ask myself.. It is a problem since I got vacation now and realy realy wanna play now :P
Well well ill try entering my Visa card every now and then I get the time. Still no luck...

hmm...That is weird. I simply log in and go to update payment information. Maybe its because I have already paid for the month and it was their fault it got cancelled? I don't know, but for all 3 I was able to put the same card's information in again, then reactivate my content IDs.
And immediately was able to log into game with them.

Spoke to support at 830p EST, they said there's no reason it shouldn't be going through, and it must be my bank or me putting in wrong information.
I have tried every possible credit/debit card I have, all signed up through the stupid 3D Secure. I tried all possible combinations for personal information that my bank could have, all failed with the same error code, 30257.
I'm going to try talking to my bank one more time tmw, I'll try and sign up one last time, or I'll be moving on to another game. I can't really believe I've actually been trying for a week as it is.

Support didnt say it was my bank, he said it was their fault. And that they are working on it.
How can it be my bank, when I ordrer Blue ray film the same day on play.com , with same VISA card.. lmao..
Patience :P I havent played in a year anyway. Smell some flowers while I wait.. But still realy wanna play, but all in time.... :(

Anyone got any helpful updates? All I've gotten today and yesterday was that its my banks problem (which I bank lol'd at, on the phone with me).
I hate to beat a dead horse, but I just wanna create an account and play!

Also, lol @ this on the Better Business Bureau website. I didn't write it but I could copy/paste and it would be identical.
Complaint: 06/15/2011: As stated I purchased software "final fantasy XI" for 19.99. This is a pay to play game. Users must register through the game and input credit card and other personal information including social security, billing address etc. My problem is that when attempting to register I repeatedly get error code 60257. This error code makes two suggestions. Either their server is busy (understandable) or my credit card info is invalid (what?) this is a huge disparity of information. When I attempted via online chat, and telephone customer support to figure out exactly what the problem is, they literally refused to tell me. The agent , Paul, would not put me on the phone with a superior. He would not attempt to check my card information. He would not specify if Square Enix's servers were down , or under maintenance. All he could do was tell me to keep trying. Please understand the registration process takes 20 minutes, and an only be re-attempted every 20 minutes. I have been repeatedly trying to register for over 48 hours to no avail. I contacted my bank to ensure that my card was working, had no holds and had all available funds. My bank assures me everything is up to snuff. My real nagging concern is how can a company be allowed to charge a customer for game, and then deny that person the right to enjoy the game they just purchased? Or tell that paying customer to wait an indefinite amount of time before they can get their moneys worth.
Business response: We would like to apologize to this customer for the trouble they are having in this situation. In a situation like this, we would like to assist the customer as much as possible in using their credit card, but sometimes depending on the error provided, we are unable to proceed with assistance. Based on the customer’s description of the problem, it would appear the card attempting to be used is not being accepted by the financial institution it's issued by. If the card issuer is approving the authorization request from our company, this suggests that either the information being entered is incorrect, or there is a problem that might be corrected by troubleshooting the internet connection to this machine. We invite this customer to contact the SQUARE ENIX support center to further troubleshoot this problem or to contact the financial institution that's issued this card.

Yeah snitch, I'd love to be playing now too. I'm going into week 2 of my vacation, but I guess we're screwed lol.
There's no news of registration issues on the website so I don't think they're going to fix anything. Everyone keeps linking the news story but this isn't the same thing as the content ID's. sigh
