Ok So I recently finished my glavoid shells and are starting Itza scales soon.

Want to know what the best Rudra's storm set would be for DNC.

Yes, I know. Rudra's fails compared to Evis in Abyssea. But that doesn't mean I can't make it fail less when I do use it.

This is what i'm looking to use for it atm.



Anwig is DEX/AGI +4 WS/Crit Dmg +2%

I thought about Loki's, but the Striking Flourish effect gives it at 50% chance to crit no matter if WS can't do so base. So with it I might crit on Rudra's and not so whiff. And 12 DEX > 11 :D

had to go back and edit cause i have jupiter's now. if you don't have striking flourish up then you would use loki's.

How does 11 DEX beat the 12 on AF3+2 body?

You should probably be using Evis when striking flourish is down (in abyssea).

Rudra's can't crit base.

Yeah, between the two sets, the OP's is better in all of the different slots. With Striking Flourish (one hand is forced to DA already, and the second hands w/ its DAs can't crit), the value of Brutal and Epona's is pretty incredibly low. You wouldn't be out of line to replace them with other DEX or Attack options.

Jupiter's Pearl vs. Aesir Ear Pendant is kind of a toss up, in my opinion.

It's worth noting that outside Abyssea, your set would change substantially.

Asking this since I'm not yet done with twash, but does using rudras with aftermath effect make it with using all the time over evis or is it too low to not even consider using the WS if not paired with striking?

Ancient Torque beats a sea gorget?

In Abyssea, Rudra's without Striking is pretty much a joke. I've done up to 3k with it (without striking but probably 300TP), but 3k compared to Evisceration still qualifies as a joke. Rudra's with Striking probably averages ~the same~ as Evisceration, with spikes substantially higher and epic fails substantially lower.

Outside Abyssea, Rudra's (100TP) without Striking does less damage than Dancing Edge and about the same as Evisceration for me (maybe a little less). This is including pretty optimal DNC gear for all three sets, barring Maat's cap for DE. DE is enough stronger than Rudra's that I feel the Aftermath is maybe just barely letting Rudra's spam make parity. Also, if you have a good setup on high end monsters, Evisceration is a hard WS to beat due to the crit rate. Rancor Collar, 5 merits, and a ton of DEX = 30% crit rate.



Ancient Torque probably doesn't beat a Sea gorget.

I thought that the only time a love torque beat gorget was when you stacked with SA, so i would think ancient torque would fall a fair bit behind...
I could be wrong though, not a thief.

Do epeen numbers on WS using that Anwig outweigh -timer? If you're using the piece primarily for DNC, wouldn't a little more well-roundedness be more prudent? I'd be happy enough with Aias.

Depends on your priorities I guess...

Personally I think -timer is irreplaceable.

quick question : anyone tested the StoreTP fusetto with Twashtar ? does it make the aftermath last for 1min ? (I don't see any reason it wouldn't but better ask)

TP+ gear does not work for aftermath, I belive.

Yeah, no form of TP Bonus affects aftermath but "TP Bonus +X" gear does work offhand/in equipment slots.

ok based off what you guys said in this thread, is this right? i'm still not sure if shadow belt/aqua gorget are better than a dex (trying to get love torque) neckpiece and cuch? is nifty better than atheling? i had read something that made it seem like a max dex build was the way to go.

I'd keep the Cuchulain's you initially had and use Atheling. Aesir should outdo Pixie, although keep in mind all of this is assuming your attack isn't capped.

Just to let you all know, Rudra's is awesome now on dnc and Climactic Flourish. no more need for the 50/50 with Striking. 100% crit now. But you probably already knew that.

I'm guessing your Parazonium is OaT 2-4? or is that high dmg OaT? Is that worth the hassle of getting anymore? I was under the impression that with saber dance and such, the OaT knives weren't all that great.

2-4hit, I didn't waste merits for Saber dance. I ish too squishy to not waltz D<

Aren't you then worried about TP feed? That was another con to the OaT 2-4 that I've heard in the past. Just curious, as I only have 1/5 Saber Dance and my dnc is 77. I'm tryin to pick up tips here and there as I level it.

The earring is TP Bonus +25 and the offhand is TP Bonus +100. So every 100 TP, it's like I'm getting a 225 TP Rudra's (regrettably without the Level 2 Aftermath).

I was dicking around in King's Limbus and I did a 1600 damage Rudra's to the turtle floor boss.

Question, everything I've ever read says Anwig should have the waltz timer on it. Is that wrong?

No its not wrong, if you're very serious about dnc...This headpiece does infact double up for a lot of jobs though. If you're very serious about dnc healing, then yes, get the timer- but if you're multi-tasking this headpiece for a lot of other jobs, then get the "WS set up".. Also with Climatic Flourish's update you should WS in AF3+2 head from what I understand as its super super effective now.
