I agree. What I think some peeps don't understand is after you leech a job there is way more that needs to be done before you can consider it a career job for events/solo.

I never leech jobs I'm seriously going to 90 with. Solo to 75 then abyssea. Now on the flip side I wanted maats cap a long time just as a personal challenge. Stuff like BRD I don't give a rats *** about ill SMN burn to 30 and leech to 66 np simply cuz it dosent matter if I know my job or not. My BLU I soloed to 76 cuz I didn't wanna be another full aurore blu who only has pollen coccoon and foot kick.

This is a mindset I totally agree with. If I want to take a job to 90, its because its a job I enjoy playing. I find it more enjoyable to slowly get stronger, rather than do no real work for hours just to have it at max level.

Only thing that does at times is make you wait longer to use your good gear for the job.

1-30 is your experience period. 31-80 is your leach period. 81-90 is your next experience period. If you cant learn how to play a job in 40 lvls then play something else. Killing something over and over again mid lvls doesnt teach you how to play a job imo. Listening to advise, doing tests, and experimenting gear is how you learn how to play your job. The only semi difficult jobs in this game to play is Blu, Pup, Sch, and correctly played Cor. The rest is pretty much the same.

Bad players come from bad habits and narrow mindedness. They also come from buying gil, buying accounts, hacking accounts, ninja lotting, using people to get what they want, the list goes on like that.

Not true, buying an account is near the same as Abyssea burning your job, you have the capabilities of looking up info on the job if you actually care. Buying gil goes even further into that, if you're buying gil to make a better investment, more power to you. It's your money, do what you want with it. I've met people who cycle through buying accounts and selling gil to make profit, they're the smart ones who are actually making something out of this huge chunk of time we're all wasting.

And to everyone who thinks Abyssea Burning is bad, just shut up already. It's all about how willing the player is to type in a URL, look at some info, and apply it to your job. I've Abyssea burned my BLU and WHM and I feel those are the better of the jobs that I play. I've had probably 2 month's experience on BLU and I know that I'm playing better than most BLUs because I actually care about if I'm doing something right or not. Abyssea isn't ruining the game guys, it's the willingness of the player to learn their job.

Burning BLU isn't bad if your commit to back tracking and learning spells.

Only due to the skill up process. Either you bot that or you spend hours and hours going insane after each pollen cast.

Not true >_>
After I burned up to 75, I just learned some random lowlevel spells while skilling up (which is pretty fast if you spam offensive spells), and once I got frenetic rip, I joined a worm-pt and pretty much just spammed head butt, frenetic rip and bludgeon all the way to 90, which took me like 20-30 levels from cap after capping out on merits after level 90.

I burned my BLU from 70. And since I never did it all in one go, I have time to go out and learn new spells.

Not really any more than levling any other job if you dont have the skill leveled up? Skilling up 2hand weapons takes way longer :<
But well, learning spells can suck, but that's not exclusive to burning the job up.

Just, if you do it 30-90, you have to spend a hell of a lot of time doing it, more than if you just had to do it every few levels.

Except the things that effect other people's ability to play. Doesn't anyone remember 2006?

I spammed Sandspin on Buffalos while leeching, decent skill ups considering you'd be nothing otherwise.

If you're talking about PS2 and Xbox users, it's still a hinderance to performance, XI doesn't take much to run on a PC.

I'm just gonna come out and say it, but does nobody care how they look to other people while they're sitting there spamming a single low level spell in a full-blown exp party?

It's just a bunch of random-*** people usually, whom I'll probably never see again, so I usually don't care, especially if I'm leeching.

I get what everyone is saying here about abyssea and exp leaches. What do you say to someone who (like myself and others in this thread) DO have capped skills, DO have merits, and DO have the knowledge to preform their duty? From what i gather it is: Nothing.

Its just impossible to enjoy exp pt in Abyssea for the gameplay/game mechanics, its just win exp for win exp.
Maybe on next update SE will guive the right to players to choice lv 90 jobs in moghouse and get them from an huge scroll exp paper in delivery box.

I personaly realy miss 6 man exp pt.

You can still choose to play in 6-man non-abyssea parties, you know. :P
