Interesting, I hadn't caught that.

Ace Combat 2 was my first Playstation game, and I've had every entry minus the portables, kind of curious how they're going to tackle the whole "Chopper" stuff though, and the more "Modern Warfare" angle and the use of real nationalities is kind of, strange in an Ace Combat game. They always had such interesting, believably fictitious story lines. Might just stray a little too close to "Real" for my tastes.


Still, definite buy, series hasn't burned me yet.

I didn't see that AC vid til' now, damn you Firefox.

But yeah, after X2 Joint Assault, I think Ace Combat might do a-ok in a real world setting. The hammy dialogue (they amped it up even more somehow - 'MWAHAHAHA YOU'LL NEVER DEFEAT ME IN BATTLE, ANTARES!'), impossible feats of lone aces, and superweapons were still present in all it's AC goodness. What really concerns me though... are those wingmen. I really hope they're wingmen, at least, and not the player character.

Somewhat related, a certain other AC has revealed it's CG opening.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought that. Then again, after the masterpiece of third-person narrative that was Ace Combat04: Shattered Skies, I don't think anything will come close again, so no point in dwelling on it.




Oh Armored Core you silly boots. Fromsoftware always outdoes themselves on the CGI to their games, honestly I sometimes find myself thinking, if the put those resources to the game, they might elevate it to a little more popularity by being more polished/user friendly.

Yeah, how FS manages to pump out CGI like that is beyond me, Demons Souls included. It's like they found some sacred text bearing every secret to the universe, and managed to only translate the part on "how-to-make-cool-cutscenes".

I love Armored Core and all but I still wonder how the series' manages to stay afloat these days, it took em' long enough just to allow customizable control schemes. I can only assume ACV is bearing the weight of Chromehound's legacy too so they're probably putting all their money on this title.

I'm sure the fairly notable success of Demons Souls (Man, that name is hard to say), helped pump funding into the Fromsoft coffers.

I grew up on Ace Combat and Armored Core though, I've bought my share of bad Armored Core games for the name alone (Last Raven comes to mind, *** that game), and Armored Core 4 was the last straw... Then I saw For Answer for 20bucks and it was actually really good, lol. Enough to renew my faith in the series.

Yep yep. Another fun filled day of disappointments, but I think it's because we're looking for reasons to be upset. I feel the worst is over though. Nintendo will give us stuff to awe at but we'll probably never get anyway outside of Zelda.

Hope Ninja Gaiden 3 won't let me down, the first 2 were amazing.

I don't mind DS/3DS/PSP remakes of games because I actually play my DS/PSP in locations where I cannot possibly play on a laptop/console. I'm all for the OoT 3DS remake.

So wat channel it on today? My tv guide shows both g4 and spike not having it on today with the latter being some csi marathon or some *** -,-

I use Youtube since it's about 3 minutes faster than Gametrailers and doesn't have the commentary.

idk, but i thought sony was cool, especially after MS and Ubi fails.
they didnt brought out the piecharts, they talked but no major focus on 3D, and their Move didnt get tossed to our face (like kinect)
and the PSV looked kinda cool to get.

It's like 5-6 seconds faster lol.

They may've sped it up, but yesterday it was definitely off by about 2 minutes minimum.

Not for me lol.

Though I resync as soon as I get any lag.

Either way it's not that big of a difference. If you want commentary in between, use Gametrailers. Since I'm playing Zelda / listening to music at the same time, I enjoy the silence break in between. I could just mute, but it's easier to tell if there's actually something happening when it's just the video and not a bunch of people talking.

Hope they open with Skyward Sword since that's all I really care about >_> but I am looking forward to them shedding more light on the new Kirby that has been on Youtube for quite awhile now. The one that's like Crystal Shards.

I can't believe on 3D tv's you can play split screen... but with 3D glasses on.. player 1 and 2 don't see split screen they see their own screen as full screen.... that's some insane technology and a big game changer to me concerning playing at home with others around you.

Hopefully nintendo's new Wii2 system is pretty ground breaking.. i hope they bring back the core games and more hardcore style again... the wii was good as a test market and leading everyone into motion sensing technology... so only time will tell.

I'm pretty optimistic sofar honestly. And yeah armored core V *** get some~.
