I've noticed once in a while when you grab 1 mob from a group all of the others disappear like they despawned.. then I have to sit there for several minutes before they even respawn.

Once you start killing families they level up/level correction.
The more rapid you kill the faster they repop. Killing 1 by 1 sucks in the beginning.

If mobs don't get killed for a while they despawn and respawn as their base level (Varies by zone but normally slightly lower than what lvl cap was at the time that zone came out). Devs probably added it so that soloers could have a chance to come kill stuff and not run into IT stuff everywhere.
good to know, i was puzzled to see monsters i was targeting dissapear for no reason
