O wow it does work...
This did cross mymind when I was younger.
The only reason why it never clicked was because when I was 4th or 5th grade (which was bout the time they started deep on multiplication and division)
My teacher gave us all a laminated sheet with all multiple up to 12
(0X0 up to 12X12)
And she pretty boot camped multiplication to us to the point where we'd know them just by being asked
It was fun i'd say...wish they taught like that still haha
