bad set up or not, it's still putting out 3-4k torc's for a 60% vit mod WS, which sadly will be a far cry from on par with Ukko's Fury

Torcleaver is a pretty braindead WS to gear for, and always strong if you don't have an attack problem.
What you need to work on, is a changing the TP phase so that you can do said 3-4k Torcleavers more often...
Also, Snowbelt/Gorget. STR does literally nothing for Torcleaver.

Actually, i do have a full haste build with a 7hit build with DA stacked, using /sam, as for the atmas i use in abyssea, I tend to go with VV/SA, RR, and Alpha/Omega
Outside Abyssea is another matter, where my average WS is still roughly 2.5k-3.2k
Typically i'm going for the Aftermath effect's Occ Deals Double Damage, where my record critical hit is over 2k, and then there's the Bale + 2 set bonus on top of that.

Souleater will probably do as much damage but take less HP to do it. I dont see them outright nerfing it the higher your level gets.

Oh and by the way... Torcleaver is light affinity, so light belt/gorget works WAY better in combination than a snow gorget/belt (which should be reserved for Herculean Slash)

Since Torcleaver has light and distortion properties.
You can use Light Snow or Water belt/gorget, either way they each add .1 ftp none of them are better than the other.

I'm no drk but being a light/distortion you could use any belt/gorget except for shadow and earth no? Light covers light fire wind and lightning, distortion is water and ice... If not then total dum dum moment for me XD

I did the math on Torcleaver for Mameshiba awhile back when comparing builds for her, and there's no way your average is that high. I can't remember the exact average figure but it was around the 2k mark, if any Torcleaver users would like to chip in/tell me my math is wrong (which is fine, I'd like to improve it if it is) etc.

If a weaponskill has a lvl 3 property, IE Light and Dark. You can only use light and dark for those rather than the 4 elements they encompass. For whatever reason that's how it works.

Torcleaver is light/distortion. You can use Light, Snow, or Water. Fire you cannot.

Actually, a 3.2k Average is not unexpected, if you're going off a Parse that is, which is taking the mathematical average.
But that's because of things like AoA or AaO Triple attack spikes of upwards of 6,000.
If you're talking just 1hit Torcleavers, 2.2k is about where the average aught to sit.

What I like most about Torcleaver though, is, unless you're rocking like, Griffon's Claw or Mounted Champion (Which I never do) the damage discrepency between Abyssea and not-abyssea is less than 15%
As an added bonus, with Last Resort lasting so long, Torcleaver, which can really suffer against High-def Targets, will actually become indirectly more powerful on average. So there's that.

Dhorme Khimairas, Statues, Altepa Dolls, (and yes, the occasional pt in La Theine on worms) but I don't encompasse a single mob as part of my average.
Warwolf Belt would be better by far -in theory- because of the VIT, but take into account a single hit ws is much less accurate than a multi-hit ws, and the STR/VIT/STP gear most others use in place of accuracy, even with various foods. The Food i use, is Hedgehog Pies over Red Curry Buns
