Crit damage being based on the targets Vit sounds like a War Mighty Strikes nerf to me...Going to reserve judgment on this tho till the actual update and I can get out and parse it.

Epic win for Pup in this update.. bout time we got some new attachments, and (for the most part) they look awesome... the weaponskills we will see but they sound great... Im wondering why harly didnt get anything

Nah, I don't think the bitching stems from the adjustments to RNG, DRK, and PUP. If anything, I'm happy those jobs received adjustments.

With SE, you always have to look for those seemingly innocent one-liners in update notes because those are the ones that tend to wreak havoc.

As odd as it sounds, the DRK7hit using the Atheling-EAF+2Helm/Body is better than the 6hit, I'm also pretty sure that isn't even a true6, since you have to ws in a lot of ultragimp equip too.

I tried to find an example of one of these one-liners wreaking havoc, but I can't find the example I wanted in the old update notes. It seems SE scrubbed them.

Does anyone else remember the magic-resistance clusterfuck from the April 2009 update? The update notes on the official FFXI site were scrubbed clean of any reference to this change, but I found a thread here in reference to it: Dasva's post on the update's changes to elemental affinities and magic resistance.

I'm not as optimistic as Nightfyre, so I'm half-expecting a nasty nerf to critical hits and critical hit weaponskills with this upcoming VIT adjustment.

Imo drk should always have been the best dd, idk whats gona happen after this update, all I know is I might not get off of drk for a while.... Got the absolution +2 with str.....sounds like kinda a waste, and now im working on 2-4 hit scythe

It seem's like too much of a waste of the set bonus in that setup. I'm currently using this (albeit +1 hands and body for the moment) and swapping in other gear for tanking etc.

That's because the mage frames normally learn weapon skills later compared to the Valor/Sharpshot frame. But still, win for pup. Hell, win for everyone.

If played correctly, Dark Knight is still a very deadly job, and I'm already pumping out some serious numbers with Torcleaver in my current set up:

true, however later in skill, not update... last WS update for auto's gave us armor piercer, magic mortar, bone crusher

and yes very very good update for pup

PUP it up!
im very very excited to see how barrage turbine turns out, that and heat capacitor should be a very nice addition to Sharpshot... I can see some nice aspects for VE and Harly for the Galvanizer, but will be very situational at best.

bale belt? not warwolf? how serious are the numbers that you are pumping out with torcleaver?
