My friend Mimiru and I did some tests of wildfire during ls events tonight and after. Our initial test compared how many blu melee attacks it required to get hate from me pulling a mob with wildfire. We did these tests on Sandy Sweepers in abyssea-altepa. They were between VT and IT. For the purpose of calculating CE/VE I assumed lv 99. I pulled with wildfire and Mimiru began meleeing immediately after (I know there is hate associated with the initial pull but I can't figure out how to find that number).

These results show that as expected wildfire enmity is reduced by using more tp. We were surprised at how high CE/VE was and decided to do some further testing to make certain we were correct.

One other simple test we did inside of abyssea was (thanks for a job change from BLU to RNG by Mimiru) namas vs. wildfire. For this test we had a RDM pull the sand sweeper with paralyze. We simultaneously fired our ws (both at 300 tp). Wildfire definitely generates more hate than namas.

We decided to move outside of abyssea after ls events both because mobs die slower and because mob level doesn't vary as much. We moved to lesser colibri in wajoam woodlands for the following tests and Mimiru switched to PLD/WAR. The wildfires for more than 1100 were done in my wildfire set with vulcan's equipped. I wanted to test if wildfire hate correlated to damage dealt so I swapped to my ranged accuracy build and removed vulcan's for the wildfires that do under 1000. I started adding pieces back in to increase my damage for the 995 and 1103 wf.

So it looks like our initial numbers in abyssea weren't so far from the mark. I feel best about the tests where only one JA was required to ballpark VE as those could be done quickly enough after wildfire that there was very little VE decay. It also looks like CE/VE are influenced by how much damage you do as well as how much tp you use. Wildfire may be low hate compared to slugwinder but it's pretty high compared to namas and coronarch.

Not to be mean but you did way more testing than is required to figure out what you did. Also why didn't you try comparing CE? Would've been a little slower for each test but much more accurate test therefore require much fewer tests. Could've even gotten exact ratios and such.

I'd do it myself but as you well know finding people to sit there and do test isn't easy. Even more so when your newish on a server

The CE for every ja/spell Mimiru used is known. Would it be possible to apply those values to these tests to learn something more?

Hmm i bet you mean waiting for a long time for VE to decay and then seeing who has hate after a set number of actions? We could try that later.

Basically you could equip enough pdt and get someone not testing to phalanx you guys so you take no dmg and let all possible VE from wildfire decay away. Then you can use something with high known CE value until you get hate let it decay away if you lose hate continue to use CE spells until you keep it even after VE decay. That will get you how much emnity that wildfire was within however much of what you were doing.

Start over again making sure the wildfire dmg is similar but don't go all the way on pull hate instead slowly go up with 0 hp cured cure spells for 1 CE each. That will end up giving you exactly how much CE the wildfire does. If you know mob lvl then you know how much it should've generated and start making further hypothesis to test.

Like is it a straight -emnity amount or perhaps -% emnity. Which really mostly requires repeating the first test with different gear to get different wildfire values.

Then you could make some assumptions like say however it effects CE it effects VE the same. So based on how it effected CE you can calculate expected VE+CE from your wildfires and get that slightly less CE than that before you wildfire and then wildfire to see if it turns. Then a little more to see if doesn't. For that I'd get probably a good 10 or more instead of 1 away from expected since not sure when/where SE rounds on that ***.

Also could test if it's applied seperately from + or - emnity from gear/merits and if it goes past the cap. And obviously how different tps effect it...

If you have eveything planned out ahead of time and proper support should only take 30 min to an hour or so I'd say. Actually I more or less outlined what was needed just gotta plan based on what spells you have available and such. Blu and drk probably the best CE grabbers now
