Chankast is outdated. Null DC and Makaron are 2 of the best DC emulators. You will need to download GDI or CDI images of the game since your dvd drive won't run GDI discs for the DC.

1. Download Null DC v1.0.4.
2. Make a folder named Null DC and extract files using winrar.
3. You will need a dc bios to run the emulator. This does not come with Null DC. dc.flash.bin and dc.bios.bin Put them in the folder Null DC/data
4. Run Null DC Win 32 Release No Trace.exe
5. If your controller doesn't work try the other plugins. Go to Options Select Plugins Maple (Input/Saves) Plugins: Also under the Plugins set VMU For Logitech G-15 Keyboards.
6. After you choose your controller plugin, If the default one doesn't work go to Options Maple Port A Config keys for player 1. If your controller is detected should show up under controller: example Saitek 2600 Rumble Force Pad. You can arrange the controls if you don't like the default setup.
7: To run the game click on File Normal Boot and then click on box with ... to load your gdi or cdi images.

Yes you can save with Null DC. Go to Options Select Plugins Maple (Input/Saves) Plugins: VMU For Logitech G-15 Keyboards. Its right under the controller plugin 2 slots for the VMU.

When you start the game, you should see a VMU unit displayed seperately from the emulator screen. VMU_data_port1.bin and VMU_data_port2.bin is your VMU file. If you need extra space just back up your VMU to another folder. You can have infinite saves that way.

There is also a handy tool named vmuexplorer which allows you to open your VMU files. You can copy, save, delete, import saves, etc. Also this place allows you to download save files for most DC games, VMU mini games, VMU icons http://bswirl.kitsunet.org/

If you plan to play Grandia 2 definately play it on the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast version of Grandia 2 is the best. It has Mode 7 effect which the PS2 and the PC lacks and better texture quality. The PC version sucks so bad even if you even manage to get it to work. You need a PC older than my grandpa to run Grandia 2.
