Single Hit Physical Spells Not Taking Effect

So this happens to me a lot w/ Whirl of Rage, is this considered a resist? I'll have 5-10 mobs around me and cast WoR and 60% of the time only one to two get hit and the rest i get a wall of text saying it had no effect. This happened a lot with slough bats in (A) Vunkerl. Maybe having them slept might have something to do with it? I have capped blue magic merits and cast in about +30 blue magic skill. Thanks in advance!

Not taking effect = miss for physical spells/1k Needles, they're subject to the same 95% hitrate cap as melee damage.

I'm not a blue mage but maybe your acc is lacking?

On that note, are you trying to cast it in a staff? Cause that's not gonna work.

You gotta cast it with your A- weapon , cause its accuracy is dependant on your weapon accuracy since it's physical spell.

also stack STR/MND for its secondary modifiers.

well damn, the staff must be it.. Never thought of that. I have a str/mnd set for WoR too. I never had the problem as severe with a sword in the main hand now that i think about it. Thanks Nightfyre/Holyman.
