Well yeh, been watching anime now for nearly 6 years and have pretty much exhausted most avenues.

Looking for something with a good plot - no shallow narutoesque bullcrap for example. Ideally with good animation quality, although not important. Good music is a must.

Pretty much any genre, although no dedicated ecchi or fanservice focused stuff please - some ecchi is fine so long as it isnt a major part of the plot, like the To Aru Majitsu No Index and spinoffs come to mind as examples.

Examples of stuff i've loved:
Baccano!, Durarara!!, death note, Ouran HS host club, Ef: a tale of the two, rebuild of evangelion (2.0 especially), kuragahime, Angel beats!, Break Blade, Bakuman, Bokurano, Clannad/AS, darker than black, Higurashi no Eden, Ghost in the shell, Level E, GTO, kaicho wa maid sama, Gunslinger girls, Noein, Seitokai Yakuindomo, Shiki, SOUL EATER, Spice and wolf, Full metal panic - especially fumoffu, To aru kagaku no railgun (and index), Toradora, crest/banner of the stars, Umineko no nako koro ni, vampire knight, Working!.

Manga examples, Kaze Hikaru, Hoshi no Samidere (lucifer and the buiscit hammer), Otomen, eternal sabbath, Dogs bullets and carnage, Hana Kimi, Black Lagoon.

Looking primarily for anime over manga, tho exceptional mangas please recommend!

I realise im asking a lot and im not expecting anything~ but pretty much out of watchable material and down to rewatches.

Thanks in advance!

Shiki
Dance in the Vampire Bund
Murder Princess

There's more but I can't think of them atm...these should be a great start.

EDIT: scratch Shiki, saw it in your list lol.
As for manga, check out Rebirth.

Thanks for the quick responce~
Dance in the vampire bund has far too much ecchi, especially in the manga version~, and while i've watched it, that decreases the enjoyment for me.

Also seen murder princess, not bad but eh, no realism or empathy imo.

I noticed you don't have Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star on your list...

One and the same, but the english version cuts off at about episode 38 or something, and the Japanese version overall has the better soundtrack, or at least most people think so.

Check it out.

Cowboy Bebop is still pretty tops despite being over a decade old. It shames just about everything that has come after it.

Berserk is viscerally satisfying. I recommend the anime and the manga, in that order.

K-ON (Pop music oriented series).
Ikkitousen (Four seasons. Really, first is all that matters).
Bamboo Blade.

I have many more, but let me know what you think of these.

-Fate/Stay Night
-Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works
(movie)
Though these titles get a lot of slack for missing stuff from the visual novels, I love them both. Cannot wait for Fate/Zero!
-Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
-Code Geass
-The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
-K-ON!
(MOE, but I enjoyed its humour and characters.)

I don't like ecchi either, but I shat bricks at B Gata H Kei. So funny!

Hi Seiri.

I recomend Bakemonogatari, from the same creators of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Heavy dialogues, but overall very good watch.

Higashi no eden as well if you had fun with Death Note (though not in a similar degree, still a fun plot).

Speaking of Death note, I highly recomend Code Geass and Gundam 00 if you liked how Kira wanted to change the world. Those two were very good (if not better, for some), than death note.

I've been reading a lot of seinen manga, so I recomend these to you:
Homunculus, Dorohedoro, Gantz, Blame! (NOiSE if you liked Blame!).

If you're into gory stuff check Ichi the Killer.

All of them can be found in Spectrum Nexus site~

*edit, forgot stuff*
Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop are very very good animes as well.

*edit 2*
Scratch Higashi no eden, you spelled Higurashi no Eden so assume we're talking about the same anime!

On the scale of other things(see others mentioning Bebop and the like)
I'd say Trigun fits into my favorite.
i think i fancy desert shooter animes, as i find desert punk to be pretty damn good as well.

Death Note and Outlaw star are by far my favs. Code Geass was similar to Death note to me also in the world aspect. Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone series are also excellent. If you wanna try some new stuff Horrible Subs has Dragon Crisis and Kore wa Zombie desu ka which are cute but they are also horribly funny. Bakuman is also another great new anime.

Trigun was too shallow plot wise, and the music sucked imo. Have seen it tho, including badlands rumble.

Yeah dude.
All the great archetypal characters and whatnot.
My two big original favorites go with Trigun, and Dragonball.
past that it's branching off.
I've seen quite a few animes though, those being the most prolific lol.

also Seiri, have you watched Monster!
how about Higurashi No Naku No Koro Ni(When Cicadas Cry)?

Saw that you watched Clannad, I know it's not as sad, but I really liked Air, maybe you've already watched it?

Also didn't see you put down Fullmetal Alchemist (it starts to get really good at about 12 episodes in or so), I really liked it, though I have to say I liked the dub version D; Vic did a really good job, the rest of the characters are good except for a few random people. But I thought the dub seemed to drag me into the story more than the sub.

Also Hellsing OVA is good if you just want to sit back and see the blood fly. They haven't finished it yet though, I think it's on episode... 7? Last I checked.

My sister recommended me Chobits a few years back, and I really liked it, but you might've watched it already. It's kinda old, but I like it.

Also Toradora, but I see you watched it, definitely one of my favorites too D;

Oh, and Gunbuster/Diebuster. Diebuster has *** good animation. Good story too, really short, I think they're both like 6 episodes
/walloftextover
Edit: Oh and I heard Code Geass was good, but I haven't had the time to dedicate time to it :<

Air is on my 'to watch' list, been trying to find a solid quality stream, which is a pain cus its fairly old.

Seen chobits, well, seen most of clamps stuff actually.

Actually own all of the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs so ya~

FMA brotherhood is decent, first anime was a killer as i'd read the manga too.

I shall have a peek at gun/diebuster

Toradora...Ryujii is pretty much the perfect male lead, who DOESNT love it? Everyones a believable character, even Taiga is mostly believable.

I don't think I went to this site to watch Air, but I usually go here. Poof Edit: Oh, and don't watch the 13th episode, it's like an awkward summary or some crap. The Summer special episodes1&2 at the end I didn't like, but it goes a bit deeper into the feudal era characters.

I love Toradora, I tried really hard to get my friend to watch it. But she's lazy and doesn't want to read subs, and I'm like ~.~

Also, just looked in my cabinet. I really liked Escaflowne, but it seems hit and miss. My friends liked it, but I've talked to other people and they absolutely HATE it. It's really old, the style takes getting used to, but I thought it was good.
