My Little Pony General

Man a thread that makes me feel old. I watched My little Pony because it was on the sunday morning cartoons and my sister liked it. I remember it did not come on all the time it sometimes was the smurfs or rainbow brite lol.

My favorites were Voltron, Mask, Thundercats and He-man

Ok, dumb question. I keep seeing you guys talk about this My Little Pony thing, posting meme's of it and everything. Is this in fact on tv or is it all on YouTube or something? Is it moderately appropriate for my 7 year old daughter to watch? I'm seeing something I could possibly get hooked on <.<

Is it better than spongebob? That ***drives me crazy. I've got cartoon network on 75% of the time and I've never seen this.

I think it's rather appealing, and by far a lot smarter than the original My Little Pony cartoon show. :p

As my philosophy with animated (Both Japanese and American) programmes I become interested in is "I'll attempt to watch any first episode once to give it a chance", I watched this. As proof of my serious attempt at neutrality, I watched the whole thing in the Gendo Pose.

To my surprise, I actually enjoyed it and will be watching more. After I sleep.

Yesterday was a sad day in Equestria. ;; Hasbro went and attacked Masterlinkx's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode uploads. It seems like they left PensivePony's uploads up, however. PensivePony's episodes are split into two videos per episode, and are in considerable less quality compared to Masterlinkx's uploads.

I was pretty sure Hasbro made most of their money selling toys and accessories, and less (or any?) on the show itself. I don't even...

So, how did these pony things get popular to begin with? I admit, I'm one of the bandwagon /b/tards who posts gore and other debaucherous images when pony threads pop up, but no real knowledge why as to if it's even worth watching. What's it all about?

So I watched episode 1, and felt awkward. I dont get it.

And the facial expressions all the time... spawn so many pics lol

The show was written and developed by Lauren Faust, who was also behind Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, among others. The characters are all vastly unique, and the situations and humor can be appreciated by anybody regardless of age.

Naturally, the show's demographic was for young girls, and as such, each episode ends with a letter to Princess Celestia explaining what Twilight Sparkle learned about friendship during the episode.

From what I've gathered, the show's hype originated on 4chan's /co/ board (Comics and Cartoons), and they were just way too cute to ignore. So people brought them onto the /b/ board, where people took the facial expressions and interesting movements/interactions, like Dasva mentions, between the characters and made them into absolute perfect memes (like 'umad?', 'haters gonna hate', etc).

Rainbow Dash even has her own memes! '10 seconds flat' and '20% cooler'.

Also! Everypony needs to watch this. xD (Especially if you've seen other "Night of ___" videos.)
