FFXII isnt as bad as everyone (other than narshee) made it out to be

Whelp that does it for me. Time to go back to my empty dynamis shell and fish all day. That way I don't have to put up with these people.

I got a torrent for Prepare to die edition from Narshecat I think... but it's been at like, 0% for a week and a half or so. XD but something about online being better or whatever? :s idk >_> /goes back go throwing axes at people

Isnt the pc edition a straight console port? Locked to 720p and locked to 30fps

I love 12, it's an great game, but because of it's faults I don't think it's amazing.

They basically gave up on the story, it just felt like it suddenly stopped and you were at the end boss, which btw was my most disappointing ending fight in any FF game, ever.

I just don't know... I was in and out of that boss fight in like 3 minutes or something, I don't even remember it.

I don't, I remember vivid parts of the battlefield but it was that lame of an experience that I just flat out don't remember the fight.

Also the chest randomization is cool I guess, but eventually if you want to farm something from them then you're going to spend hours resetting the game over and over again to do it.

I don't play games in a negative light though, so I enjoyed it very much.

You won't be playing online for awhile, it just won't be possible for you to learn anything from people twinking you and there won't be any enjoyment.

They will destroy you and make your time miserable, so play offline until you're ready for PvP which honestly isn't going to be until you beat the game once probably <3

I'm sure there is a better torrent available for you.

My only issue with 12 is half the player characters are irrelevant to the plot for the most part. I lied that they essentially went for a 2nd person perspective with Ashe being the main character despite that you follow Vahn but really,

Other than that I liked it as long as I didn't go too crazy on gambits and the game play itself.

Depends what you expect of FFXII, if a standalone game or an actual FF. It took everything awesome there was about Ivalice games...and removed it. It was extremely upsetting and a great letdown after being advertised so much about being part of the Ivalice world.
Why can't I recruit bangaa etc?
Why do they insist with stupid grids instead of keeping the awesome class system of other Ivalice games?
Why does Penelo exist?
And don't get me started on Vaan.

Look at it this way. What do you think of when you think Dark Souls? Then think about what type of people would be attracted to the game, then think about the PvP even though you've never experienced it.

It's the recipe for twinking, and there are a lot of people who build characters to do it.

PvP before a recommended level is just you getting murdered, but at reasonable levels they become more of a duel. The invader will bow at you and you bow back, you both use a buff item then fight. It's very fun, there are places though that are designed to be invasions though like the forest. A single player, or two, or three, will team up on you and come after you and it's a PvP hotspot because people enjoy it. It might sound bad, but it's good to have a designated area for that type of PvP and then have other hotspots be duels that people can have matches.

Just don't go online and turn human until you've become use to the game, you know the controls, you know how to fight and to defend, but more importantly to evade. PvP is much different than PvE though, and you basically need to learn how to fight all over again when you start to PvP. That is why Twinkers have such a huge advantage over a new player because they have maxed out weapons and armor and you don't stand a chance with what you have available to you when you start the game.

So yea, enjoy the game offline until you're ready for it.

Only redeeming characters ff12 had were; basch, ashe and gabranth... I'll throw in balthier too.

To be honest the entire concept of Ivalice threw me off of those titles, I never really touched tictacs or revenant wings either.

I don't think Vagrant Story had a class system did it? I think your weapons just got stronger as you used them and you got items to rise your attributes with but I could be wrong.

The License board was indeed dumb to me since there was very little variety to be had and in the end everyone did everything.

There was a class version released in JP and EU but not NA, of the main game not the DS version.

All 12 characters are extremely stereotypical anyway, even Balthier which is supposed to be an unusual protagonist.

Also I remember a game magazine who stated before XII release "Penelo, the new female sidekick, will totally make you forget Rikku!" like seriously? Rikku at least was hot, and not an awesome personality but at least not insignificant either.
