meleeing is definitely not mindless in dark souls yeah, you'd have to use the right attack for the situation. But if you're powerful enough you can run in full force and one shot things easily throughout the game

But if you're powerful enough you can run in full force and one shot things easily throughout the game Take a normal RPG. You start off in easy mode, nothing really can kill you. You build your way up, and you build your character. As long as you kill everything on the way you pretty much have the same difficulty throughout the game. Dark Souls is open world, you can take different challenges and depending on where you go you may not be experienced enough to take those areas on yet, so you go somewhere else. The beauty of this design is for when you're experienced. You don't want to take the same path you took last time, lets just go to the catacombs on a brand new game at level 1. You can do that, and as long as you're experienced enough there is nothing stopping you from defeating the game like that. That is one of the reasons I think Dark Souls is such a great game. Yea, I'm not really sure why they did that. Though to be fair they are pretty hard to reach places so most people won't even see the yellow doors (except for the one in anor londo).
Ugh... Every time I hear a car door open out front I'm like "omgomgomgomgisithere!?" Feel like a little kid again. ._.
Also itching to get started on actually putting my game together. Sooo tempted to use placeholder sprites and music, but if I do that, I'll end up falling into the trap of putting off making sprites and music until most of the game is done and then it'll be a huge pain to switch out all the placeholders with the proper stuff. People stream fights all the time.
I was certain that would of pulled you in :x Josiahkf said: » The only thing that sucks is 3 endgame locations are locked at the start of the game and I wish they weren't. I spent like 2 hours exploring down to nito to farm humanity and fight him for fun and realized the door was locked until I place the lord vessel that neither the game nor community mentioned -_- Bleh

I was certain that would of pulled you in :x Dark Souls PvP is scary as hell. I learned from Demons Souls to go offline because the level range for PvP with you can be stupid. Someone rolls in like 11 levels higher and kicks the crap out of you. I don't play a game like that for PvP. Also I always had the bad luck of having some crazy hard core player ending up in my game :| I found a picture describing it but way too much profanity for me to care to edit out. In short I have basic gear and they have god gear and I get stomped to the dirt. Carbuncle.Skulloneix

Clearly UK has a better delivery service then the states. Weren't your post men on strike a few years back? o.O
It's not bad.
>that feel when you're singing along to songs, thinking you're alone, and someone walks in from another room

I'm talking about when you're ready to PvP, around level 60 or something. Going to the forest for PvP is how I started out, got to level 120, opened up all the important areas for PvP in NG+ and it's really fun. I pvp at 120 and everyone is very respectable except for like 5% of invaders. They will stand about 30 feet away from you looking at you and bow, you bow back, then you get any buffs you want on and fight. It can be a really enjoyable experience when done correctly. I played Demon Souls years after launch so it wasn't common and if it became to frequent I'd just go offline. Dark Souls though since it was knew it was quite common and killed the experience. /pokes Leon with a pickled sausage
Yea, twinking is incredibly lame. I just ignore pvp until 60 like I said.
