I welcome 3 movies because I don't want them to leave things out because they have to keep the movie a certain length.
They completely skipped out on Tom Bombadil in the LOTR movies. I was sad.

But if you watched the development videos at all, you would of seen the staff sleeping at work taking shifts to complete the first movie in time. They aren't going to get paid enough for these movies, it's not just about making a paycheck. They have passion for making things this detailed. Not everyone is going to love it, people are going to complain that it is stretched. People complained that LoTR movies were too long, no one is going to be happy. If I had to pick between a 90 minute movie that lacked details, or 3 200 minute movies that had every single detail, I'd pick the 2nd option. I cannot stand when they make a movie from a piece of work, just to tear it apart and throw away everything that was important about the story just to condense it and put it on film. What exactly do you mean "to finish in time"? The 2nd movie is already cut and edited. And the first one JUST came out. I presume the third one is done being filmed and is in post production now.
You do know that they didn't have the movie done until a week before the release? I believe it was 5 days.

I didn't, but that sounds really odd, considering it has premieres all around the world, in addition to the second movie being done. You're saying the second movie was done being edited in 5 days? It would seem really stupid to start to edit the second film, if the first one wasn't completed yet and had such a deadline, no? The first one wasn't done until a week before the first showings. The 2nd one I'm not aware of.
Why don't we just enjoy what we get, because it's not like we're making the movie(s) are we?
I really need to learn photoshop lol

Yeah Jackson said on the Colbert Report he actually had the final cut of the 2nd film already on his Ipad lol. Yea, they left parts of the stories out, added characters, etc, but I think they did it for the good of the film. I couldn't imagine a team doing a better job honestly, I don't really see that quality of work on any other movie. I mean, they made those castles by hand (small sculptures), it was amazing looking at the development of LoTR. Semi-related: LotR has some of the most beautiful movie music ever so I can't wait to see The Hobbit

The work is comparable to that done on the original Star Wars. :) On another note, I loved King Kong by Peter Jackson as well. ![]() ![]() the model used in the movie Josiahkf said: » what's a great lord of the rings scene to make into an avatar hmmm The scene in Fellowship where they are fighting the Uruk-Hai, specifically where it show Legolas firing off arrows and this one comes up to him....he takes an arrow, stabs it in the things throat, then notches and fires it at him. I just thought that was creative use of his limited amount of arrows XD Asia Travel Tips? lol
