It's a southern thing in general. I grew up in New Mexico, and it's normal there to say "you" for one person, "ya'll" for 2-3 people, and "all ya'll" for 5+ people. Such as, "I'm going to the fridge, do ya'll want a soda?" Or "I watched the theater club's play last night, all ya'll were awesome!"
It's a horrible habit that I've been trying to squash out for years. I almost never say ya'll anymore, and I don't think I even have any accent anymore. ^^ Good riddance!

When I lived in out west (new mexico, arizona, texas) I'm pretty sure my accent was completely neutral...now I've got this horrible Tennessee southern twang..I'm saying not only "y'all" but "wahh" instead of why "bah" instead of "bye"
it's getting really bad and I'm totally aware that I'm doing it.
