Ah that does sound bad/expensive...if it's already leaking through into your ceiling that means a lot of damage has already been done between the external roof and the interior. :/
Trying to get roofing done during the rainy season is rough, too, if it's already begun in your area. ;_;

Eh, yes and no. A lose shingle is all that is needed for a leak, and the wood in the roof won't be damaged by light water until it goes long term. Depending on the type of ceiling the water is comming through you can just Kiltz the area and you won't have any mold issues.

Ah ok...it's just my pessimistic side, I think. :p I know if it would happen to me, my mind would be racing about how the water was pooling everywhere, spreading through the insulation to the surrounding drywall warping everything, that it had been doing that for days before I had even noticed the leak, how much it would cost me, etc. etc.

You're not the only one, Schutz. I would start freaking out about mold and mildew also. I would start poking through walls, go into the attic, and what not. Allergens are a nightmare to me.

If it's around the shower, it can be the shower's condensation itself causing the "leak" not the roof. The steam could be saturating the drywall above the shower, so it may not be as bad as you think.
It could be that your apartment/house was poorly constructed. Contractors will cut corners sometimes, and not use the appropriate sheet rock that is waterproof. Is there tile, and if so, is it cracking?

but for general purpose I'd probably just use Gimp portable or something. I prefer not to install things if I don't have to).

lol I was lucky my college gave me a half assed decent amount of my financial aid money back in refunds, finally able to upgrade my desktop to ALMOST up to date ( Intel i5 3570k, 16GB ram )

I'm so tempted, I'll have to wait a few weeks to save the paychecks, or wait til I get my next distro from my loans, or spend the $1500 I have set aside just to hold onto (rainy day funds).

.hack was a great show and game imo.
I find it funny though, in the opening video it showed a user using an optical mouse on a glass desk, it looks cool but ha!
