Eh, I'm torn about it, tbh. On the one hand, the game itself is improving. On the other, throwing out all the old animations is a HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE decision that is going to cost them an assload of time that could be spent improving things that actually need it.
Also not fond of regional servers; I'd rather not have to choose between playing with friends or playing with good connection speeds.

I didn't hear about the regional thing, and what do you mean "all the old animations"? You mean the fact that the engine is being rebuilt? Cuz um if you look at some of the 2.0 trailers the WSs look very very similar to what they are now (talkin bout Steel Cyclone specifically off the top of my head).
Don't worry about it Leon, the servers are going to suck no matter which you join because they won't move them out of japan.

If it was just about making them in the new engine, I'm sure it wouldn't have even been mentioned because that's a pretty obvious thing. :/

The way I understood it is they are labeling servers E/EU/JP but you can pick which you go to.
In good SE fashion they haven't let us know exactly how they are handling it.

Crafting/Gathering jobs in that game are WAY WAY different than FFXI. Crafting and gathering are fun in 14.
