I liked the main story. Haven't got all the extras from the missions yet. Bits I do have are pretty straightforward so far, though.

If you have the patience and intent to track down all the analects, they give an insight into the bigger picture concerning the origins and history of the Fal'cie and the events that shaped the future in which you play. They are actually very interesting, it's kind of like finding artifacts and learning about ancient myths and gods. The only problem is they are all written in these annoying Shakespearian riddles >.>;

But yeh prolly better to jus read them here for what it's worth.

Bleh there was a video explaining the origin of the fal cie and humans along with their relation to 3 gods but SE had the english sub pulled off youtube... other languages are up there though >.>

There was no official english versions released, the ones I saw were a fan done translation I think... It was written like any other book, with parts following each character and helped to understand them alot. IE you get a little more inside Lightning's head and see her reasons for hating Snow right off the bat in the game.

XI was definetly one of the most detailed and beautiful game worlds I've ever seen... Most other games I can't help but feel like they were built to be convinent to the player as a priority rather then building them to be an actual world.

I remember reading an article with one of the designers/creators of FFXI and he said they originally mapped the zones of Vana'diel as if the game were originally meant for a single player game, which for example, is why they made Beaucedine and Xarcabard have so many lengthy cliffs and trenches, so it builds up anticipation and to some degree anxiety for the trials ahead when you reach Fei'Yin or Castle Zvhal Baileys.

I tried to but i'm shy lol... took me a good few months to get comfortable with the LS I was in.

My interest in XI just kinda died after the lv 99 update, none of the new content that had come/was comming seemed all that interesting to me. I still want to finish off WotG at somepoint, maybe while XIV is down, but thats about it.

I did. Was so sad. I love to read all cs and learn the history of the game. The FFXI world is MASSIVE. So many stories and quest, you could not possibly finish them all in a month.

I did. Was so sad. I love to read all cs and learn teh history of the game. The FFXI world is MASSIVE. So many stories and quest, you could not possibly finish them all in a month.


I always read all the CSs, I still thinkg the CoP storyline was the best :3
